Hello, c-rhodes,
Thanks for reaching out in the Intuit Community.
Currently, the option to produce individual monthly CIS Payment Deduction certificates is unavailable.
QuickBooks integrate with hundreds of third-party software developers. To view wide-range of options, you may wish to consider looking to our third party application provider. Just visit the QuickBooks App Center through this link https://apps.intuit.com/.
If there’s anything else you need help with, please feel free to reach back out. I’d be glad to help. Have a great day!
I have been looking for this option too. My last software I used had this option. Contractors I work for also send me payment Certificates. I am a small business and Quickbooks online is now my only software. I thought it would be better than using a separate Payroll software and Accounts software, I am now finding that Quickbooks is not necessarily better than using separate packages.
Hi @gcj1971,
Let me take care of this question for you.
As my colleague stated from her previous comment, this feature you're looking for is unavailable. You do have the option to view our QuickBooks App Store page to integrate a third party app that generates a CIS payment deduction certificate.
Leave a comment below if you have any other questions for me.
I can see there are apps but have no idea which one offers the option. Do you know which one does? It also depends whether it’s a free app or a paid one and how much it is. Thanks
Likewise, I could not find an app which would do this.
Please advise which ones do.
Hi gcj1971 and c-rhodes,
You can generate a CIS Payment and Deduction statement for your sub-contractor in the Taxes section. I made screenshots for your visual reference.
Feel free to post back if you have more questions. Have a nice day!
When I export the CIS statement to PDF to send to my sub contractor the font is so tiny it cannot be read.
I can't find any settings to alter the orientation from portrait to landscape or to increase the font size.
Really unimpressive, I have to resort to making up my own statements as I used to before QBO. Unless there's something else I'm doing wrong or have missed?
Hi AB111
You are unable to edit the pdf in anyway. The only thing we could suggest is when you save it you could re-size it using power point or a similar application.
Hi John, thanks for the reply. What a shame QBO can't make the PDF readable though, without resorting to another app. It's hard to read on screen, even before exporting to PDF. Bit of a waste of time having the 'export to PDF' option.
I'd have thought that as the CIS facility is offered within QBO, it should allow for a usable statement to be sent to contractors. Like a remittance advice.
This option for pdf is not on my quickbooks is there anyway to get it? It would be a really good thing to be able to do I am currently typing them out and is very time consuming.
Thanks for following this thread, @Harry cocker. I'm here to help you fix so you can see the Export as PDF option on your QuickBooks company.
When issues like this occur, we can use a private or incognito window to confirm a browser-related problem. Here's how:
Then, follow the steps below:
If you do, that means you'll need to troubleshoot your main browser by clearing its cache and cookies to fix the issue. If the problem continues, I'd recommend using a different supported browser.
For future reference, read through this article: Filing CIS in QuickBooks Online. It helps you learn about submitting your CIS return directly to HMRC.
Let me know if you have more questions. We're always delighted to help you some more.
That can be done before the statement is submitted and marked as filed, once this is done there is no option to export each individual statement anymore. Is there any way to go back and be able to export these?
Hello Cristina20,
Thanks for posting on this thread,
So the option for to export the cis it no longer available.
You could look at the cis reports and change the date range and see if that works for you as you will be able to export the report out of Quickbooks.
Left-hand main navigation bar click on reports> search cis> select a cis report and alter date range > right-hand side will see the export icon
Hi Ashleigh1,
Thank you for your reply, this is helpful, however as far as I could see I would only be able to export the CIS Statements but still not individual subcontractors' deduction statement.
Hello Cristina20,
There is no way to show the individual subcontractors deduction statement in Quickbooks just the whole CIS reports as have said before.
We would suggest leaving feedback about this in the product in the main cog wheel> feedback this gets sent straight to our development team and it might be something that gets brought into Quickbooks.
I thought we legally had to to supply monthly CIS statements to our contractors?
If you forget to print them off and mark the CIS return as filed the option is no longer available. This was obviously not a problem until QBO introduced the "marked as filed function". I like this new function but surely the inability to print payment statements is quite a serious issue and needs reinstating urgently.
I have sent this info by the feedback function in QBO but up till now have never received any response when submitting feedback.
Hello Joanne, thanks for leaving the feedback we will also pass this feedback on to our developers as well.
I have just discovered this too after being asked for a copy of a certificate. Please can you ask the developers to get this resolved asap as it is causing a major headache with being unable to adjust CIS in QB and also being unable to print certificates. All my CIS returns have been automatically marked as filed!
Hello Becky, thanks for the feedback, we have passed this information on to our develops about the CIS already and we will pass it on again to them.
How can this be done now there are new updates as this facility seems to have disappeared
The only way that I can see to do this at present is to go to REPORTS, then under STANDARD at the top choose CIS CONTRACTOR MONTHLY STATEMENT (CIS 30), custom the date to the required month and then FILTER , SUPPLIERS type in the Sub Contractors name and RUN REPORT this then gives you the required statement. download or export as Excel, choose print change to Landscape and save as PDF Very, very time consuming but resolves the problem until QB get it resolved!!! and we have then met our legal obligation.
This can be done by clicking the down arrow next to export as PDF and select export as EXCEL open the saved excel file then choose print DO NOT PRINT choose landscape NOT PORTRAIT then choose save as PDF, the saved PDF item is of a readable size. However this option is only available before filing the return.
Excellent Tracey - Thank your help. Hopefully QBO will reinstate this function before year end but in meantime at least I can send something workable.
Agree!!
I hate the new CIS updates .
Today has been the first one where it has automatically sent it directly to HMRC . It rejected it but marked it as filed, If I log in and manually do the CIS return on my gateway account there is no option to adjust it from rejected and i no longer have the drop down to download the subcontractors CIS statements.
