We show the "Product/Service" column on invoices and delivery notes.
We set the column width to 15 in the template editor (i.e. the smallest).
On an invoice everything is fine.
On a delivery note the column is 3x wider, squashes the other columns and looks poor.
Can this be fixed?
Thanks for letting us know about your concern, Klaus-1. I've got the information you need to fix the issue with the "Product/Service" column width on delivery notes being wider than intended.
Since you've set the column width to 15 (the smallest setting) in the template editor, it's possible that the other columns may be inadvertently set to wider widths, affecting the overall layout and appearance of your delivery notes.
To address this issue, I recommend resetting the widths of all columns in the template and ensuring that the "Product/Service" column is maintained at its original width of 15. I'd be glad to show you how.
This should help you improve the alignment and visual consistency across your delivery notes.

Hi Adon,
Thanks for the reply.
As I said, the invoice is fine (where more columns are shown), it's only the delivery note that looks poor.
Looking at the template settings again, most column numbers are set quite small. I've tried adjusting them differently to see their affect, the invoice sees some changes, the delivery note looks identical with the Product/Service Column taking up 1/3 of the page width unnecessarily.
Thanks for returning to this thread and sharing the troubleshooting steps you performed to rectify the columns, klous-1.
Could you please provide a screenshot of the Print page of the delivery note to help us determine why the columns show three times wider and squash the other columns? It'll also help us check if there are any investigations related to the issue.
In the meantime, I recommend accessing your QuickBooks Online account via a private window. It'll help us verify if this is a browser-related issue. The browser utilises cached data to load web pages quickly. However, excessive cache can lead to problems that impact the appearance and functionality of your account.
An incognito mode helps us verify the issue since this doesn't save any files. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
If the delivery note prints fine, clear the browser's cache. Doing so deletes all the data from your browser and optimizes its performance. Using other supported browsers also helps us verify if this is a browser-specific issue.
Please reply with the needed information when you have a moment. We're here to help and look forward to resolving your concern.
I think that simply we can't manually choose any settings specifically for delivery notes so the system just fills the space used for pricing columns (not used on the delivery note) with the Product number column. It doesn't look very good as the product numbers are typically short and the Description text is typically long.
I have tried private window. Same result. This happens on all user accounts, not just mine (i.e. not just my browser cache).
Thank you for following up, klous-1.
At this point, since the behaviour in your delivery note remains odd even in a private window, I recommend contacting our Support Team so they can investigate the source of the problem and determine whether a ticket should be created for it.
