Hi @katherinejoyceO ,
I usually start by thanking people for replying but not in this situation. Errors are understandable too but only when someone has really tried. I'm really unhappy about this but let's stay civil.
The answer is completely wrong for the following 2 main reasons:
Reason 1: You can send a remittance advice automatically via QuickBooks if you have already saved the details of the supplier with their email. Let me teach you how below:
a. Create a bill, insert the supplier and save the bill
b. Open the saved bill
c. Click on payment
d. After entering payment details either press "Ctrl+Alt+M " or select the option "Save and Send" as per the below screenshot
e. Click on "send and close" on the email edit popup.
2. The topic of discussion is "I want to change Remitance advice default text. The default is 'Please find our remittance advice attached to this email. Thank you. Thanks for your business!'". It did not concern what you answered erroneously so...
Please do not just provide a quick wrong answer just for the sake of maintaining great response time stats.
Thanks.
It's the actual text that is already entered in the message box that is the issue. Why can't it be set so that the user can edit this text once and then save it. Every time you need to send a remittance you have to manually edit the text to the wording you need. This is a pain in the neck for a number of your customers, as has been highlighted numerous times over the last 3 years.
We see many changes to the software in relation to how screens look etc when time could be better spent on upgrades that are actually what your paying customers are asking for.
How do we go about putting in a request for a system change for this, as I'm sure this is something that would benefit a great number of people?
@katherinejoyceO Your answer is completely irrelevant to what is being asked here. Gets to show how serious people are being taken.
Hello KathM, thanks for sharing this information with us on this thread, if you click on the main cog wheel> feedback and leave your comments in there this gets sent straight to the developers team for them to look at.
Do you get tired of replying with the same line about sending feedback and passing it on the the devs?
Don't you think we, us paying customer, are tired of asking, or seeing people ask for the same, simple changed week after week, months after month, and YEAR AFTER YEAR!
It's apparent that the Intuit devs and management don't care about customers, if they did these small issue will have been address years ago. Instead they seem to think this game of constantly asking for the same thing makes them thing they know better. Just like the new menu system, who the heck came up with that pile of rubbish? It doesn't save anytime, it just causes more re-learning where things are.
IT'S NOT ACCEPTABLE!
Hi Mark,
You can switch from the new view to the old one from here.
@Mark Armistead Yes, I've already done this 12 months ago and what has happened. NOTHING as per normal.
Quick enough to take our money, but slow as anything to respond to requests for system amendments which would make our lives so much easier.
Thanks Andrei, I knew about this although it does also vary from browser to browser. Safari is the previous menu with no animation where as Firefox is the old menu but with the shortcuts.. Go figure lol
Katherine, it very much is an available option. I can send remittance advices to suppliers after the pay bills has been run. And the remittance advice pdf is OK, but can't be edited. So I end up sending a pdf attachment with "Memo: (blank)" and "Signature: (blank)" [has that been written for the 0.1% of people still putting cheques in the post?!] and bank account details in the footer pulled from sales invoice template, stating 'PLEASE PAY COMPANY, BANK DETAILS...." Obviously I don't want the supplier I have just paid to be paying me! But there's no way to edit this without removing bank details footer from sales invoices. Plainly absurd. QB, up your game, there are plenty of other options out there.
Since 2020 are we as users now able to access the remittance advice wording, I have searched high & low to find where to do it and failed! The wording is still not appropriate to what I want it to say
So three and a half years later and still no change! We were the original poster of this topic! As the years go by I see people come and go but no answer.
So back to my original suggestion. No code required, no UI change.
JUST DELETE THE MESSAGE.
Please?
I would like to add my vote that this needs to be changed ASAP. The default text is so stupid and I have to change it manually EVERY time. I can't believe a basic feature like this hasn't been changed in all this time.
Same here! I have just messaged the "feedback" line YET AGAIN to get this looked into. What is more annoying is that being as this (I am led to believe) is an American programme they have the presumption that we in the UK (and other parts of the world) like the use " Have a Good Day" ending on their remittances!
@christine-bulbecactually you can change the have a nice day! text. You need to go to Account Settings, Sales, Messages. You'll see a drop down menu showing each send form, except remittance. But all the others are there with a custom email signature for each. As like me I've probably never seen that since originally setting my account up, so how the heck are we supposed to know if things have changed?
What seems to be a bit of an issue is the responses from Intuit help on here as I've now found out two of my complaints have either been fixed quietly, or they have been there all along but are buried. OR been given bad advice by Intuit staff on here, typically the copy and paste bot replies.
@Ashleigh1This was mentioned in another thread about how the UK doesn't have a dedicated change log as things are rolled out. They are just left to users to 'find them' Is there any news on this as it's bonkers we don't have the same as the USA site and users do. Especially after all this upheaval with the UK market and Desktop.
WOW!
Thank you Mark, all now found and changed!
You’re welcome. I only found it at the weekend by accident. No idea how long it’s been changed, but as I have said Intuit seem to think it’s ok to either gives us bad advice, or, just expect us to magically find changes and fixes.
That was another message I sent them a few weeks ago asking them to provide us users with a list of updates/changes. Hard work sometimes!
It’s stupidly annoying the fact that the USA site has a big massive updates blog, we got nothing. The way that Intuit is treating the UK market is simply shocking. Then they roll out Advanced with yet more bugs, dump a new menu system on us with no consultation, and they are now going to change it yet again.
On a slightly positive note Mark, I am having some issues with Payroll, I asked for a return call and it arrived within 5 minutes of me logging for help. And they were very helpful when they called!
I must admit my last two engagements with the online chat has been pretty positive. Maybe they are trying to improve thing but why don’t they be more proactive about telling people about it. Makes for good marketing for crying out loud. Makes you cry when you see the comments on Facebook ads. Why anyone would even entertain them when you do see them is beyond me.
The default should probably be,
"Have a nice day and don't forget to tip!"
Hillarious @onairsolutions
Well said!
People, as this thread is quite active, anyone here use the dark background but since the last update cant use it as the customer section is not totally black? Again, I have reported it!
Dark background? They used to have a Labs thing where they were 'supposed' to test new features out. The only thing they had was a dark theme which was terrible. They've now removed the labs section so I don't even now where you mean about dark background? Or last update to be honest lol
I don't suppose this has been fixed yet? I would like to change the default message in the remittance advice and also NOT display the bank information. Adding my vote to get this fixed!
