Hi GinaSAI, thanks for joining this thread. Unfortunately there has been no update to customise the remittance advice in QuickBooks Online. We appreciate you adding your vote and recommend submitting your feedback through the Settings wheel > Feedback tool so that this can be viewed by our developers.
Hi @GinaSAI
Quickbooks are never going to do this. You should probably save yourself a lot of waiting and switch to a product that has this feature.
I get a laugh from the suggestion that the "developers" are watching the votes. No they are not - they are doing what their product & project managers put on their task list. And everyone in this thread has been waiting years for this feature with no action.
After going through all the settings on Quick books only to find out that you can't edit the remittance I am totally fed up of this accounts system, which is in my opinion, totally inadequate. It isn't a patch on Sage, never has been and never will be. I use different systems, but this one is the worst, terrible, and terrible customer service too. 1/10
@Boggart I have to agree it's not user friendly at all. Being an ex user of Sage for over 30 years I can see your frustration! I do have to admit there are some areas that Sage does not have that are good BUT most are not! One thing I cant agree with is the customer service. I have had nothing but helpful people with my calls for help on all sorts of matters. That is something Sage does lack.
Hi Georgia - are there any updates please on the wording on the remittance advices and us having access to change it?
Hi there, @christine-bulbec. I'm aware of the significance of changing the default text for remittance advice in QuickBooks Online, and I'm here to provide some updates on this matter.
In QuickBooks Online, you can manually edit the default text for the remittance advice message. However, this is only a temporary option as QuickBooks will automatically revert to the default text for the next remittance advice you create. If you want to set a desired text for the remittance advice as a default, I recommend sending feedback to our Product Development team to let them know the importance of this feature for product improvements. Here's how:
For additional information about the process of setting up default email for sales forms, check out this article: How to set up or change customer messages in QuickBooks Online.
If you have any other questions about managing remittance advice or any other QuickBooks-related concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know. We are here to help you and provide you with the necessary information. Have a nice day!
Sorry to disappoint but, I have requested this change several times a year since 2021 and I was notified by another user that they have been requesting this exact change since January 2020 and still it's not been changed.
QB have given you exactly the same response they give to everyone to make you feel like they care, but sadly they don't.
QB will only change what they want to change and when and not what their customers have been asking for for years!! Screen layouts and report formats seem to be a priority over changes that actually make a difference to their customers day to day use of the system. Kath
Hello @JuliaMikkaelaQ
Thank you for feedback but I constantly request this (literally every month!!) via your suggestions link!
It would appear that this really is not important to QB and I just get put to the bottom of the pile, like so many others users do requesting this change!
If you read through my initial question from months ago you will clearly see many users letting me know they are chasing for this change
Seems like we are just put to the bottom of the pile @KathM and this really is not an important request. Those in charge of this issue clearly do not use the remittance reports to see how important this is to us. I feel your frustration and will continue to post my monthly suggestions of this (plus other changes required) until we get somewhere!
Hello
Ref :
Has this issue been resolved yet? It makes our remittance advices look very unprofessional and frankly embarrassing!!
Thank you
Not that I am aware it has not yet Linda
I just checked.
I first posted this January 08, 2020
I'm looking at retiring soon.
I doubt it will be sorted by then.
Just don't ever ask me for 'Would you recommend Quickbooks to your friends' ever again!
I'm a fairly recent customer of QBO, I figured I just didn't know what I was doing and that there must be pages and pages of settings I haven't found. Reading this discussion has realised my worst fears. This is an unfinished product with little to no feedback loop from real customers to devs. I fear this one issue is a case study/tip of the ice burg. Any real company (not just one man bands trying to help their accountant) wants to change the look and feel of every piece of paper/pdf they send. This is an obvious starting point for accounting software. Initially I thought that the remittance slips was just an oversight but seeing QB team members pay lip service to what is clearly a major limitation for their customers and nothing being done... I mean, the default message still has an exclamation mark! I.e. was written by a developer not someone that writes professional emails. Imagine how many hours have been wasted collectively by QBO users just changing that one piece of punctuation and how quickly a single dev could make that change and push it to production.
I'm afraid, I've seen the wood for the trees, this a toy piece of software and I will be looking to migrate to something else.
Thanks for wasting my time and my money getting it setup QBO.
Hello Julia
It appears from this roll of messages/comments one user has now left your services because of this simple request that so many users want, money being received/payment receipt advices is of course a daily task that ALL users have to go through so why on earth has this request still not been dealt with. Or maybe it has and as per another quibble of mine, us users have not been alerted to a change!!!
Are you able to see if there is any update on this?
Thank you
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this, Christine. I'm here to provide you with some updates on this matter.
Currently, setting a default text for the remittance advice is unavailable. Introducing this capability can improve your business operations and customer experience. I suggest manually adjusting the information when sending the transaction through QuickBooks Online.
As my colleague mentioned previously, it would be wonderful if we could forward this feedback to our Product Development Team. We highly value your suggestions and consider them while making product updates. The more requests we receive for a particular enhancement, the more likely it will be included in future updates.
Here's how:
Our product engineers will consider your suggestions, and you can always check the status of your request through this link: QuickBooks Online Customer Feedback.
Furthermore, here's an article to guide on how to record a check, cash, or credit card payment towards bills: Enter and manage bills and bill payments in QuickBooks Online.
Don't hesitate to reply below if you have further concerns about managing remittance advice or any other QuickBooks-related. We want to make sure everything is taken care of. Have a wonderful day!
Are you a robot? We've seen this reply before... 3 years ago. I simply see this reply as a disingenuous smile whilst really politely telling us to...
You've accelerated my efforts to migrate.
I have been sharing my requirements with your teams for a whole YEAR on a regular basis!!!!
Yes we all know we can change it manually but when you have 30+ payment advices to change in one day do you really think we want to sit there and manually change them!
@LipJYes they are reply robots. They do my head in as they either reply with something that has nothing to do with the subject or this typical feedback post.
I personally think they do more damage to customer service than good. You can tell the real reps as they don't talk like real people.
On this actual subject the whole forum is littered with similar threads regarding stupid product choices, lazy coding, missing 'features' and slews of upset Intuit customers. To be fair @JackS has set the ideas exchange section of the forum up with many suggestion being accepted to join a queue for the devs to work through. I've not seen any of them make it into the product yet, and to be honest I'm not holding my breath.
