After my CT600 was rejected by HMRC I searched Help and found a help page which says you can't have annual accounts made up to before 1st April, 2023. Is this correct?

Why is this not made clear in the workpapers and pro tax sections in Online Accountant?

Let me clarify things for you today so you can process your Corporation Tax return (CT600) in QuickBooks Online Accountant Workpapers accordingly, EdS88.

Yes. You can only prepare accounts dated after April 1, 2023. If you need to file a return for a date before this, you'll need to use an alternative method outside of QuickBooks.

Access this link for more details on fixing submission errors when submitting CT600 form: Fix Pro Tax submission errors in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

Thanks for your help, I thought it was odd that the date was 2023.  Here is an example of the mistake btw in this page

Now I'm just confused, the first reply said it was 2021, now you say it's 2023.

LOL, what a truly bizarre way to develop a software solution, Pro Tax never once informed me with any sort of message or pop up warning about not accepting annual accounts made up to a date ending before 1st April, 2023.  What a waste of my time.  Oh well, lesson learned.  Thought it all seemed a little too good to be true, a free service to file a CT600, and it was.

Hello EdS88,  we will pass on the feedback about the pop-up to the product development team, the CT600 filing in QuickBooks accountant is a new feature of 2023, we welcome any comments and we're sorry for any frustration caused.
