How do I retrospectively upload to HMRC a payroll period?

Hello there, @Aslways3 ltd.

You can delete or rollback your payroll in the system since you've missed 1 month last year's payroll submission.

Since you're using QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll (QBOP), you can delete the payroll and recreate them. This way, you can redo the FPS when submitting it to HMRC.

Then, ensure to print out all the payslips and payroll reports since the deletion process is permanent. You can follow the steps in this article on how to delete the payroll: Deleting a pay run in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll.

After that, just recreate the payroll and resubmit the FPS to HMRC.

Keep me posted if you need a hand with running payroll reports or any QBO related. I'll be here to ensure your success. Take care.

Hi Aslways3 ltd,

Thanks for joining us here on the Community. :waving_hand:

Was month 1 ran in QuickBooks but just not submitted to HMRC, or was this not entered at all? 🧐

Not entered at all, my fault but I need to know how to rectify it.

Thanks for getting back to me, Aslways3 ltd :)

No problem, to rectify you'll need to roll all of the payrolls back to April, and then amend the payroll settings so that the first pay period shows with the correct dates.

Once you've done this, you can then run the payroll back through and resubmit this to HMRC as 'correction to earlier submissions' to ensure this overwrites any information they have previously received (it's a good idea to download any payslips before rolling back for reference when re-running).

If you'd like steps on the process to rollback, please get back to us below with the payroll version you're using - Standard or Advanced

Thanks!
