EPS

Hi there, @robinbaitey.

The EPS (Employer Payment Submission) can only be submitted between the 6th and 19th of the month. If you miss the submission period, you can submit the EPS in the following month.

There are also several factors why you can't submit your EPS to HMRC. Here's a list of some of them:

  • If you have paid employees within the current pay period (no payment period is indicated), FPS filings have been submitted.
  • You haven't paid SMP or SPP before sending EPS.
  • You have outstanding payrolls for the month. Then the EPS filing is listed, but cannot be submitted until you’ve run all payroll for the tax month.

To ensure you can file your EPS to HMRC, make sure that the list stated above has complied. Then, follow these step-by-step processes to send EPS to HMRC:

  1. In the left menu, click Taxes
  2. Go to the Payroll Tax tab.
  3. Pick the EPS, then view the details.
  4. Enter your HMRC credentials if this is the first time you're submitting.
  5. Click Submit.

Once it's submitted, you'll receive a message and see a Status of Accepted.
