I've been getting this error message for a while. I have to manually submit my employee pension contributions on Nest.

It started about a year ago. I have contacted Nest and they helped me set up another group and added all the details. But, its still giving me the error message. I did ask Quickbooks help initially, when the problem started and they said it was a problem with Nest. I'm getting nowhere fast.

Sorry, I did initially put in the error message, but it didn't include it with my post.

The first of June payment due date is the one that is getting the error message, as I have had to manually submit dates before. I pay my employees weekly and the last pay day was Friday 27th May.

Thanks for keeping in touch, @gcj1971.

I've got some additional information about the error message you got when manually submitting the employee pension contribution.

To match with the pension providers, you'll need to have the correct pay schedules on QuickBooks based on the error you receive. The same is applicable for the service provider.

I have no idea how to set schedule in Quickbooks to match Nest Schedule. I've looked in account settings but nothing there.

I'm so fed up with this problem, I am seriously considering swapping my payroll software to Xero. My accountant can help me with this as they use it.

It isn't the kind of experience we want you to come across, gcj1971.

I've got you on how to set up a payroll schedule on QuickBooks.

  1. From the Payroll tab, select Employees.
  2. Select the employee's name.
  3. Click Edit employee.
  4. Select the How often do you pay [employee] dropdown.
  5. Select the pay schedule for the employee moving forward.
  6. Click Done.

I've also attached an article you can use to learn how to pay employees: Run payroll.

Drop me a comment below if you have any other questions about running payroll in the Online version. I'll be happy to help you some more.
