Hi @Lynneriche
Did you use a third party to convert your multicurrency desktop file. We are in the same position as you. What did you do in the end and did it work?

hi Dave239,
I tried 2 3rd parties and neither were able to do it, I gave up and cancelled my subsctiption with QuickBooks and went to Sage 50 Cloud and uploaded the info via spreadsheets, lot of work but I think Sage is better than QBO.
Thanks for the update. Do you mind me asking which 3rd parties you tried please?

Both MoveMyBooks and MMC Covert has to refund me in the end.
Thank you, I wish you the best of luck with Sage 50 Cloud.
i don't even have multi-currency issues but a month in, i am still waiting to see where QBO is even as good as QBD was, let alone an improvement. Online is not intuitive, far less flexible from design of forms to layout of screen to text accompanying invoices and statements. Worst of all perhaps is the helpdesk. My bookkeeper and i are solving issues faster then they can; it is criminal that Inuit recruited a batch of online help desk people who have zero experience of Desktop and therefore have zero understanding of any migration issues. if i could row back a few weeks.i would almost certainly have found a better online product to migrate to; i foolishly thought my 20 years with QB desktop would stand me in good stead with learning the Online,
Hello Paulmcf1, thanks for posting on this thread, and sharing your thoughts with us and your honest feedback. Thank you for being a loyal QuickBooks user. We acknowledge there is some differences in the two products and some features that where in desktop are not available in online. We would just like to stress that the qbo support and qb desktop have always been specialist support to the one product so we can provide the most in depth help. We would be happy to answer any questions you have here on the community page.
I feel for Quickbooks' employees who are having to field these problems due to their company's decision to kick desktop users out of the boat without lifebelts.
But I have to ask, from what you have heard has the unrest about the useless compromise of viewing previous data been put to your bosses, and if so, what was the response.
Again, all that is needed is full access as previously without the ability to save or edit.
Hello Gilbey, Thanks for your query. In regard to viewing previous versions of QuickBooks Online data or having backups to go back to that is something that has been put forward to the highest level. we have. Currently we have not been updated on any coming changes happening with that option.
If you are referring to the tool which was launched to view Desktop data so that you have access in case of any HMRC audit or just to view in general, we do not expect a change in the way it can be accessed or what can be done when accessed. It was built to be read only.
I was forced to use online for my vat returns having used desktop for about 10 years. When I emigrated, I was glad to give up such a inferior product (and be forced to pay over and over for it). They will never have another Cent or penny of my money again. Their contempt for the it customers is astounding!
