Hello, I'm a long-term QB user upgrading a new client to QBO. Thewy are currently running QB 2010 and I need to figure out how to get the QB 2010 data into QBO. My understanding is I need to go via QB Desktop but a trial version doesn't seem to be available in the UK. Suggestions very welcome!

I am not sure you can upgrade directly from QBD 2010 to QBD 2021. You may need to upgrade your data gradually to QBD 2015 or 2016. Contact me in private and we can share the trial version for it.
Do you need to convert data from QB Desktop UK version to QB Online UK version or another region?
It's all in the UK, I need to convert from QB 2010 Pro to QBO UK...

Where is your company located? UK or another country?
Thanks for joining here, Usman. Let me provide information about the QuickBooks Desktop availability in the UK and other exclusive countries.
Upgrading can be a good plan if you're using the latest Windows 11 operating system (OS). However, please be aware that as of June 2023, QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) versions 2016 and above will no longer be supported in the UK. We urge all users to migrate to another software solution prior to this date. We recommend QuickBooks Online, our more accessible and lighter version, which is available anywhere with an internet connection.
In other regions such as the United States (US) and Canada (CA), QBDT Pro Plus and Premier are no longer available for new subscribers. However, QBDT Enterprise 2024 isn't impacted by this update and remains available for purchase. If your business is located in one of these countries, you can contact our Sales team directly. The necessary links and contact numbers are provided below:
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise US
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise CA
Please note that to ensure your company data is correctly restored without issues due to feature updates, we require you to gradually migrate to the most updated versions. Obtain trial versions of QBDT 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, 2022, and finally 2024. During this process, you'll specifically need to back up and restore your 2010 company file to complete the migration effectively.
You can follow these steps once you reach in 2024:
Although these articles are based on US guidelines, the steps provided can also be applied to CA when updating a company file and checking its compatibility with the newer version:
When you encounter issues while migrating to QBDT 2024, I recommend contacting our QBDT Live Support team. They can further assist you in updating your company file so that you can access it in the 2024 version.
Please let me know if you have additional questions about updating your company file by leaving a reply below. We're always here to help.
