Can anyone shred any light on this.

Where is tax profile ?

Hello UKmdb, thanks for coming back to us here, so there is no where to list employment in QuickBooks Self-employed, you would just need to adjust the personal allowance amount as to what allowance you have left in the tax profile section.

Where is tax profile ?

Hello UKmdb,

Welcome to the Community page,

So it would depend on which QuickBooks account package you have taken out with us at QuickBooks. If you have taken one of our QuickBooks online (simple start, essentials or plus) you will not see this tax profile option as it is only in our self employed account package.

Where is tax profile ?

Thanks for the reply,
I didn't even know there were different ones when signing up. now it appears there are several different ones.
If it helps, my subscription says I have a quick books simple start, + Quick books standard payroll.
Are you saying I now need a different package? a self-employed account package?
hat is the difference and how can I cancel what I have any take out the other one?

Where is tax profile ?

I appreciate you for giving additional information about your concern, @UKmdb.

Let me go over and discuss further details about the difference between QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Self-Employed products (QBSE).

The Tax profile option is only available in QBSE. It can be found under the Taxes column when you click the Gear icon. Since your using QBO Simple Start, you're unable to view and use this option. Please see the screenshots below for your reference: QBSE.PNG

To get more details about the features available for each product, feel free to access these sites:

If you want to subscribe to QBSE, simply go to our QuickBooks Plans and Pricing page to proceed. Then, if you want to cancel your QBO Simple Start account, see this link for the detailed instructions: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription.

Also, if in case you've already started adding transactions to your QBO account and want to use QBSE, you can easily transfer the data by exporting them from QBO. Then, import the information to QBSE by selecting the Import transactions option. Refer to the snips below for a visual guide:import 1.PNGimport 2.PNG

Once settled, here's an article that will guide you in setting up your tax profile in QBSE: QuickBooks Self-Employed UK Tax Profile Set Up.

Additionally, here's a link that you can access to further help you navigate QBSE: QuickBooks Self-Employed Overview.

I'm always ready to help if you have any other concerns about managing your QuickBooks account. Just leave a reply below and I'll circle back to lend you a hand. Have a good day.

Where is tax profile ?

Thank you Divina,

So far so good just one thing though.
I have added my employment pay in my tax profile, however in the tax summary I do not see employment listed.

My previous software used to ask about employment and what tax was paid, pension etc.. I see none of these options, is this correct?
I also have a carry forward amount from previous tax years to off set, how is this added.

Sorry for all the questions, but I so want QuickBooks to fit my needs.

Where is tax profile ?

Well, that is pointless!
I shall just pay the extra couple £1's and stick to what I already use in that case,
Quick books is supposed to be huge.. but wow... the functionality is so poor..

At least QuickBooks has still made a fiver from me in the past 24hrs. :(

Where is tax profile ?

This is very frustrating, from the response its clear that the more expensive package (essentials that i am using) does not have a vital feature in terms of being able to manage personal allowance within my tax profile. What are we paying for that we get LESS features and functionality active on our package???

Where is tax profile ?

Hello Totes Coffee Home, thanks for posting on this thread, we have a specialist product for self-employed customers, it is our Quickbooks self-employed account. The one in Quickbooks Online is a feature that was added in and is something that as far as we are aware is still going to be added to the online version. It does not have the full functionality as of yet on the Online version. However, if you want that, then you would need to use our Quickbooks Self-Employed account, going forward for the meantime until it is fully functioning in our Online product.
