You got me here to share some insights about how the report period works on the reports in QuickBooks Online.
The This Month-to-date is the default Report period for the Trial Balance report. Know that each report in the system has a different default period. To view the details your desired transactions, you'll need to manually select the date range from the drop-down menu.

I can only assume that whoever decided "month to date" was the most useful option for a TB has never ever prepared any accounts in their life!
Can we please have some software that is designed by someone who actually uses this stuff instead of a load of convoluted but pretty rubbish designed by web addicts?
