It's our priority to help you stay compliant. However, we have decided to discontinue all QBDT services for our UK users starting on June 30, 2023, due to the recent changes to accounting and tax regulations. It involves all versions of QBDT Pro, Premier, and Enterprise.

Yes, you're right. The versions available on our Downloads & Updates page are from 2016 until the latest. Those from 2015 and earlier are unavailable for download since we're unable to guarantee older software will operate on newer systems. 

For now, you may want to reach out to retailers outside QuickBooks to search for available QBDT Pro 2015 downloads.

Additionally, you may want to transfer information to and from QBDT. Doing so makes it easy whenever you need to create a new company file, upgrade, or convert files.

Do you have a new computer to replace your old one?

I'm not sure this will work but you can try to make sure. Contact me in private and we can share the installer files for QB Desktop 2015 UK Pro.

I have a legitimate copy of pro 2015 which i have been using as a small business since 2015. i am happy with QB as it serves my purpose, however......my computer hard drive was corrupted and crashed. I bought a new computer running windows 11 but when i go to re-install, I get….. "register" i go through the motions fill in all the boxes and am told it did not finish. I am aware that there is no longer any support for desktop programs from QB but surely someone can help me get the validation number to register it again? I am appalled that it appears the only way I can fix this is to migrate to QB online, which I do not want to do. So a program that I legally bought and paid for as a one off. Is not! When I bought the program no one said “oh wait….we might discontinue it and therefore your license for life is in fact a license for X number of years. I expect I know the answer, surely there must be an answer to this deplorable situation?

Oh I forgot to add - I will never be forced into paying a monthly subscription when I have already paid for my goods - and as for not being HMRC compliant. I have just submitted my tax return (April) and they accepted it

You can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2021 as a workaround.

From what I understand if I download QB  Later edition. I will only be able to use it for 30 days. Correct me if I'm wrong

I must be doing something wrong - I have downloaded the "trial vesion" QB 20 ad 21 but each tie t sks me for a serial number abd a product number - neither of which I have................ any help would dearly be appriciated

To register with QuickBooks Desktop, you can request the activation code from QuickBooks Online Support. Please know that although there is no direct support for QuickBooks Desktop, this option is available for your request.

Meanwhile, you can download and install the temporary version of QuickBooks Desktop 2021, which provides 30 days of access. No license number is required in this downloadable link. 

You need to uninstall the existing version of the desktop before installing the temporary one in its place. Here's how:

1. Log in to your QuickBooks Desktop, and open the company file you want to move to the temporary desktop version.
2. Press F2 to open the Product information window.
3. In the File Information section, please note where you saved your company file.
4. Uninstall QuickBooks Desktop from your computer, then Download and install the temporary version of QuickBooks Desktop that'll give you access for 30 days.
5. Open the new version of QuickBooks Desktop.
6. Go to File, then Select Open, or Restore Company if you don't have your company file open.
7. Select Open company file, and then select Next.
8. If you have a backup company file (QBB) instead of a company file (QBW), select Restore a back up copy.

Thank you - but I do not want to move to online as it costs a monthly fee - so why should i pay extra for something i legitimently bought? I cannot download a trial version - there are no trial versions available to me - so when I install it it asks for my licence number - which I have from pro 2015 and then asks for version number which i don't have So I've paid for something that although no one at the time said "well in a few years it will be defunct and you can't use it" so its a deploable way that quickbooks treats its customers.

 I am wondering if what you have done is legal - I know you've done it because its not HMRC compliant now (although I just sent my tax return in with quickbooks profit and loss, and had no problems) you should honour the contract I made with you in 2015 and supply me with a working version or at best allow me to register the one i have bought and paid for

Thanks for that. However this was the 1st thing I did try........and was told quite blunty and rudely that qb no longer support desktop no one can help you. You will need to migrate to the online version. We'll as you can imagine P***ed off is an understatement.
