Why does the timesheets report show units and not time?

Ive set up a user to be able to add additional time worked through the employee portal. The only option is to enter the number of "units". The worktype set up is for units to be hours.  The timesheet report in payroll only shows the number of units entered - but does not show the time although there is space for time in the report.

I'm here to help you set up a user using time in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

As I have tried replicating your concern,  we can smoothly enter an employee using time in QBO. Since it's not working on your end, you can delete and recreate the employee to fix this.

 

Here's how:
 

  1. Go to the Payroll menu and select the Employees tab.
    Select the employee’s name. If the employee isn’t on the list, select All employees from the Active Employees dropdown.
  2. Tap Edit Employee and then click Delete employee.
  3. Tap Yes to confirm the deletion.

Deleting an employee altogether seems a rather nuclear option!

Can I revoke access to the employee portal and then reactivate to see if that makes the difference. If yes, how do I revoke access as I can see a way to do it.

Hi eddie-paterson, you can revoke employee portal access by navigating to the payroll settings > employee portal settings > access > tick the employee > revoke access.

Ive been a bit slow following up.

Units in payroll are set as hours - salary, absence, annual leave - all in hours.
