Can you submit a vat return using the app?

Hi there, @simon71. Glad to have you here in the Community!

QuickBooks Online Mobile allows us instant access to your QBO data from your mobile device. However, there are some limitations when using it. Not to worry, you can still submit a vat return using a web browser on your device. It works the same as how you access your account on your computer.

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to Taxes, then select VAT.
  3. Select the Returns tab.
  4. Next to the rejected VAT return, select Resubmit return.
  5. Finally, select Mark as filed.
Note: Once the return is marked as filed you'll no longer have the option to resubmit the period to HMRC. If you need to resubmit the period, you'll need to do this manually through HMRC.

For more details about the process, refer to this link: Submit a VAT Return.

Finally, when you make a VAT payment to HMRC or receive a refund, record them before matching them with the associated bank transactions in QuickBooks.

Fill me in if you have more questions about the process of submitting your VAT return through QBO. I'd be glad to help you achieve your goals.
