Good evening thank you for the reply going incognito did not solve the problem. However I have established while disconnecting from MTD. It does allow me to edit The VAT return however this only leaves me the option to print or export so how would I go about submitting these returns to Hmrc if I turn on making tax digital again? There is no option to edit the dates thank you
Thanks for your reply, @mike510.
I appreciate the workarounds you've performed to find a resolution to your concern. I'll ensure you can send VAT returns seamlessly to HMRC.
While you disconnect from the Making Tax Digital (MTD), you'll no longer be able to submit digital VAT returns. Thus, you can export them so you'll be able to modify the dates.
Once done, you can reach out to HRMC to ask for other options you can take when submitting the VAT outside QuickBooks.
Also, here's an article you can refer to for more information about MTD: Set up MTD for VAT in QuickBooks Online and connect to HMRC.
