Hello Community Users! We just wanted to add some comments on this thread regarding removing the Paypal bank connection when it does not show in the banking section. Generally if it does not show in the banking section, it is possible that it was removed at some point but the connection has not deactivated completely. If you go to the list of chart accounts and the drop down arrow on the end of Paypal account line you should have an option to select edit>when you do click on disconnect account on save. That should then keep the chart of account but remove the connection. Any questions just ask.
Welcome and thanks for posting in the Community, @philipdelves.
There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, causing some unusual responses. To isolate this, try logging into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser (incognito).
Here's how:
Once signed in, go back to the Banking page again to disconnect your PayPal. Please refer to this article for further guidance: Disconnect or delete an account connected to online banking.
If it works, return to your default browser and perform a clear cache. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. However, if the issue persists, try using other supported browsers.
Let me know in the comment section below if you have any other issues or concerns, and I'll get back to you right away. I'm always here to help. Have a good one!
Thanks Fritz, unfortunately I still can't see the PayPal account in the Banking section even using a private browser.
For clarify, I have another bank account which is visible on the dashboard and in the Banking section. There is a blue tile for that, but not for the PayPal account.
Any further help appreciated, thanks.
Hi there, philipdelves.
I appreciate you for performing the troubleshooting steps provided above to resolve the issue.
Since you're still unable to see the PayPal account to disconnect this in the Banking section, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They have the tools to figure out the cause of this problem.
Here's how to contact them:
1. Open your QuickBooks Account.
2. At the top right, click the Help icon.
3. Click Contact Us.
4. Under What can we help you with?, enter your concern about disconnecting PayPal account.
5. Click Let's Talk.
6. You'll be routed into the Choose a way to connect with us page.
7. Select how you want to contact them and fill in the information.
For additional information on how to delete or disconnect a bank or credit card account, you can refer to this article: Disconnect or delete an account connected to online banking. This also provides information on how you can delete an account on your chart of accounts.
Please check this article on how to resolve common issues with bank feeds in QBO: Troubleshoot issues with Bank Feeds.
Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns. Wishing you and your business continued success.
I have the exact same issue. I've been at this over an hour. It's sort of absurd there isn't just a right mouse click to remove it.

Anyone struggling, go to My Apps - and disconnect Paypal from there.
