payroll schedule change to monthly from weekly on standard payroll

I want to change my employees all over to monthly pay on there request and also it will help me as a business. but im told I can't unless I upgrade to advance.  (but it is posable if im willing to be held to ransom ) iv been told by one of QB advisors to make them all leavers creating p45s and basally start new employment for them all??? is this some kind of joke??? is that actually legal ??? apart from the fact I will still have to do a nil weekly pay run my. employees dont want to look like they have started another job. She also told me to just create new employee profiles for all of them and run a new schedule but I would still have to run 2 pay runs one would be nil every week. surely this would look like it was  there second job and tax codes would be affected. this is all very silly where QB are expecting you do be very dodgy and do things incorrectly just so they can get more money out of customers who want it done correctly.  what can I do ?? or will I be leaving and going to Xero ? help !

payroll schedule change to monthly from weekly on standard payroll

Let me explain how it works using our payroll subscription, Greenwood.

Once you're subscribed to our Standard payroll, you'll have to mark the employees as a leaver to move them between pay schedules. Then, recreate their profile and assign them to a new pay schedule.

Also, let's ensure to enter the Year-to-date data for any earnings and tax in Pay History if you move your employee's pay schedule in the mid-year.

Rest assured, though, the process is not illegal.

I'll include this hub to guide you with the subscription you're using: QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll hub.

It is a legal obligation to give an employee a p45 if one is generated.  And when I speak to my staff they don’t  this or want to be made a leaver as there time in service would go back to zero as they would  technically be a new employee this isn’t the correct way to do this at all.  It’s just a doggy work around as QB want to keep this simple and essential  task back so ppl pay for the advance package.

And I will still have to do a nil  payrun for the un needed weekly pay schedule.  As ones you have paid any employee with a pay schedule you can’t delete it ?? Yet again this is ridiculous.  Iv sighed up to QB to save me time this will do the exact opposite

Hi, Penfold.

Thank you for reaching out to us here in the Community. I'm here to help you change the pay period in running payroll.

You can update the pay schedule on the Payroll Settings. Here's how:

  1. Click on the Gear icon. Then tap Payroll Settings.
  2. Choose Pay Schedules in the Payroll and Services section.
  3. Hit Edit next to the pay schedule you want to update or delete.
  4. Update the pay schedule information.

For more details, you can review this article: Set up and manage payroll schedules.

You can also check this article about what you can and can't be edited on a paycheck in QuickBooks Online: Delete or void employee paychecks.

This does not work, you are not the first to point people here.

Once you run a payroll, you cannot edit it.  You get told this as soon as you try.

I too need an update on this, we are trying to change our pay schedule to align with our pension schedule, but would need to delete 30 payroll runs data to do this.  This can't be right?
