Glad to hear that you'd like to use the mileage tracker, @tim60.
The mileage tracker is already available in your country. This way, you can track your mileage with our mobile and help you categorize your trip as business or personal with just a click away.
You'll have to click the Miles from the left menu, this way you can add your trips and use the mileage tracker in mobile app.
Here's how to turn it on in the QuickBooks Mobile app:
Also, make sure that your phone has the correct location permission enabled.
Once finished with your trip QuickBooks mobile will automatically detect the starting and stopping locations then you'll have to categorize it as business or personal. Here's how:
For the detailed process, please read out this article:Track mileage in QuickBooks Online.
Also, you can refer to this article about the troubleshooting guide on what to do if your mobile stopped tracking mileage: Android mileage tracking troubleshooting guide.

Hi, I’m having the same issue but the response doesn’t help, the miles in the ‘hamburger’ list isn’t appearing. I’ve checked the app is up to date and that location services are on, I’ve even deleted and reinstalled the app, and done the app refresh thing in ‘help’ it’s just not there...
Hello Rayray5,
Thanks for reaching out to us on the Community page,
Could you try some troubleshooting for the mileage if you follow the steps on this link it will help you to do this. Let us know how you get on.
Hi, I tried the troubleshooter and the mileage tracker is still not appearing. I'm using an iphone is there anything else i can do to try and get it to appear?
Hello Rayray5,
Can you make sure you iPhone is on the most current IOS version so it needs to be (IOS 13).
Hi, My IOS version is 13.3
Hello RayRay5
Could we confirm that you have the Correct App? Have you got the online App or the App for self-employed? Only the self-employed App has the Mileage tracker function.
Thanks ^Becky
I'm using the online app. The mileage tracker works on the online app for a staff member but it doesn't work on mine, we both have up to date IOS versions and both apps are up to date...
Hello RayRay5,
When you log on a browser can you see any of your mileage being tracked on there and is just not showing on the app when you log in?
There is no mileage being tracked because i cant get it on the app to set it up to start tracking in the first place.
Hello RayRay5,
Right ok thanks for that, on the app does it give you any error messages on the mileage section?
The mileage section isn't there, that's the problem, it should be there...
Hello Rayray5,
You know you said another staff member was able to use the app and was working for them, are they by any chance the master admin of the company.
Ashleigh, why don't you just explain that the mileage function is only available on the self-employed app, so that's why Ray isn't seeing it. Ray, it's going to be made available on the standard app "sometime soon" but for now you can't get it.
Is there some way I can be removed from this thread because it's doing my head in?
Yes they are the master admin, if its the case that the master admin can use the mileage tracker but standard users cannot why is this the case. Its more likely that a standard user will use the mileage tracker.
Also got a friend who uses the QB's online app, he is a standard user and can use the mileage tracker...
Tim, apologies for jumping on your thread but the issue is that it can be used currently in the standard app as QB have made mileage tracking available to all types of subscriptions.
Not in the UK, according to the QB team member I spoke to.
Hi RayRay5
Thanks for confirming this. Currently only Master Admins have the ability to record mileage on the app and browser, we are working on updating this to regular users as we understand it is a limitation. It may be that your colleague is using the QuickBooks Self-Employed app as to why he is able to access this feature.
Hey tim60,
Sorry to disturb - you can manage thread notifications by going to your Avatar icon in the top-right corner > My Subscriptions > Notification Settings.
The mileage tracker has recently been released to the QuickBooks Accounting app for Online subscriptions but is only accessible to Master Admin users currently.
Thanks
I have the same issue. I'm Master Admin as I'm the Accountant and I get billed for the subscription on my wholesale account. My client is Company Admin and can't see the Mileage tab on their mobile app? He's the client, doing the miles - why wouldn't this be made available, it makes no sense. Is there a different app he should be downloading?
Your client doesn't need to download a different app, SparklyOne.
The mileage feature is available in the QuickBooks Online and Self-Employed apps.
Let's ensure the app is updated. This way, all features, and updates will be added. Here's how:
Although, if it's already updated, I'd suggest reaching out to our customer care support. This way, an agent will take a closer look at your issue. Here's how:
We're just right here if you have other concerns. Feel free to drop by.
So can you confirm it is now supposed to be available in the UK to those that are standard users or Company admins not just to Master Admins?
Hello Sparkyone,
I can confirm that the mileage tracker is available in the UK, at the moment only Master Admin are able to track this at present.
This is a major set-back for my client base. It is now pointless for me to be a Quickbooks Pro Adviser and use wholesale subscriptions on behalf of my clients. The clients naturally expect this feature to be available to them after it has been a widely TV advertised feature in the UK over the last few months. They are better off setting up their own subscriptions and just adding me as a User. Pretty shocked by that, it's very shoddy treatment of Businesses like mine that promote your products to clients and puts us at a huge disadvantage. I and my clients deserve better than that, particularly when there is no timeline given for this to be resolved.
Additionally - much of the support answers have been to ensure that the App is the most up to date one etc, go through the troubleshooting guide etc etc. Why don't your support team all know this? Have you any idea how embarrassing this is for us when a client comes back and says - "tried all all of that and it's still not working, it's crap"? I now have to go back to them and explain that they have completely wasted their time trying to get this to work as it transpires that it's not even available to them. I need a solution to offer my clients that need this feature, right now. I shouldn't have to move Master Admin and move billing to them for this to be available to them.
