Yes, but there is also a known issue of QBS invoices not being received by customers. It's been going on for 4 months and QBS IT team are working on it. It's a major problem with the software at the moment. Have a search through the support forum and you'll find a number of entries about it. You'll also find what the issue is.

It's only yesterday that particularly noticed it but I've had customers contacting me asking for copies - one in particular seems to have missed 8 out of the 10 I've sent them in the last couple of weeks.

 

It's reassuring that it's not just me but worrying that it's such a major issue and is taking so long to fix.

 

Strangely I've sent an email to a customer this morning and we always cc an internal email address but for that particular invoice I added my email address to the top line addresses.  It came through to me but not the cc address - the only difference between these accounts is the name before the @

Quickbooks and the customer service are a joke. I have been calling about this issue since February, wasting COUNTLESS hours on the phone. Funny, each representative acts like they've never heard of this problem and that it's an isolated case. Hard to believe, given all of these blogs.

 

These work arounds are not ok.... no business wants to add a GMAIL account if they have a proper business email/website. Also, asking for businesses to download manually PDFs and email each customer, what is the point of having an automated system Quickbooks, let alone the extra time involved?

 

Quickbooks, please, quit marking these things as "solved" or corrected and actually do something about the bounced email issue. The biggest problem is are they or aren't they bouncing..... For example, I sent an invoice to a customer twice over the period of 2 days that showed bounced, turns out he got both and ripped me a new one for the repeated emails trying to collect money. He found it very rude, and I can't agree more.

 

Quickbooks, $85/mo for your "automated" services with manual requirements of invoicing to customers and no memory for price updates for existing COGS upon inventory repeat additions, quickbooks, you're really behind!! 

 

For those wanting to call customer service, waste your breath, go do something more enjoyable. I have called customer service many times over the years, and never once had any viable resolution or anyone that knew what they were doing. Most of them don't even know the basics of the product.

I occasionally have invoices that dont arrive at the customers inbox or junk mail / spam.   Just been to a customers and my invoice is nowhere to be seen.   Sent a reminder that also did not arrive.  With qickbooks selfemployed there seems to be very little options to change / modify

Yep! And it’s a multi year problem. I would tell you to not even bother wasting your time with customer service as they will waste your hours, endlessly and arrive you to no solution. They are completely worthless and always say their engineers are working on things and can give you no timeline of completion or any improvement. Best of luck!

Hello Imhere2day, Its the bank you were posted to and on the bank register anything with an R has been  reconciled with or without a cleared date and they only have an R on the bank register if they have been added to a reconcile.

This response does not have anything to do with the question. Receipt of an invoice by a customer is not tied to any bank. QBO Support team, please actually read the question before responding. This isnt the first time a response by customer support had nothing to do with the question or matter at hand.

I understand how convenient it is in sending invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I’m here to share some details that can help you with the delivery errors you’ve encountered in QuickBooks Online.

As of the moment, there's an ongoing investigation into whether users are experiencing bounced emails when sending invoices. Rest assured, our engineering team is working on a fix. 

In the meantime, Also, I want to ensure you're in the loop about the investigation's status and its fix. With this, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. They can add your company to the notification list so you'll receive email updates.

Please ensure to check our available hours when contacting our support so we can address your concern on time. 

You may also want to consider manually downloading your invoices and sending them to your customers.

1. If they are working on a fix then your investigation must be complete and you know that users are experiencing bounced emails?

 

2. This has now been happening for 1 year - I was put on the affected users last February (2022).

 

I now use gmail which avoids the issue, but that won't be a solution everyone can go with.

@DebSheenD QBO customer support and its engineers have claimed to be working on this for over 2 years... Any experienced engineer in software knows a remedy of active intention does not take that length of time to rectify. It is truthfully nothing but excuse after excuse offered by quickbooks customer service. Consistently, the blog question is not read with a reply given by support that does not relate to the question at hand or customer support replies asking us to get on the "list." Understand that once a user comes here, at least for me, I have already exhausted all phone communications with customer service. All in all, whether through this blog or on the phone, it has been a waste of my time. No solution has been provided that is workable to a business paying QBO >$80/mo.

@Andrew124 Andrew, just so you are aware it still does the same problem using one's own mail. We experience it all the time.

If you're using gmail servers via Google Workspace you can make the change here and it solves the problem. That's because QBS then sends the invoice via the gmail servers and not their own so you don't have the bad IP issue.

 

We switched over to it about 6 months ago and the problem has gone for us. We didn't change because of QBS, but it was a welcome side benefit as we send hundreds of invoices monthly.

And this is STILL going on!? It has just recently affected me, and is now not even sending to my own email address, which was my workaround. I can't believe people =have been dealing with this for over a year. This is a PAID service. Please get it fixed people. Guessing it's time to consider FreshBooks, or something else, unless this gets fixed soon. Ridiculous, Quickbooks.. just ridiculous.

The quickbooks self employed system is a bit hit and miss with invoices. I have had clients complaining they've not recieved them at all, even after having checked spam. Others have complained that all of the information is not there and they can't pay me. Of course you can't check what's been sent via a sent items box either. I've now given up, and prefer to send a PDF, doing this is quite complicated because you can't save as a PDF untill you sent it. The work around is to send it to your own email address, and then save as a PDF from the system. Just appolgise to the client that the email address is not right. This is the only way to do it and keep the invoice on the system. Saving it as a draft and then PDF means it stays for ever as a draft untill you send it to someone.
