Hi info734,
Error code 103 indicates that your clients have entered invalid credentials.
Some banks provide different connections depending on the type of account. Example: For HSBC, they have a link for commercial, direct, office banking, credit card accounts, etc. It could be that their bank does not provide a link for the type of account your client has. Then, the available one in QuickBooks is for other types that's why they can't sign in.
Alternatively, they can sign in to their account on the website where they normally access their account. Then, they can download their bank transactions into a Web Connect file and upload them to the Banking page. They can do this weekly or twice a month, depending on how many transactions they are processing. You can share the article Mirriam mentioned in her answer.
You can also send this to your clients: Assign, categorise, edit, and add your downloaded banking transactions.

It's nice to see you here in the Community, @info734.
You can connect your Co-op business banking in QuickBooks Online (QBO), as long as it's on the list for Online Banking connection.
To check, connect your bank account, here's how:
However, if it's not in the list of supported banks, I recommend sending support request for this bank as Co-op business banking would be a great addition to QBO online banking. Here's how to send your request:
While the bank account is not supported yet, for the meantime, you can manually upload transactions into your QBO account. Here's an article for the detailed steps: Import bank transactions using Excel CSV files.

Hi
The bank is in the list (Co-Op business banking) but when both my clients who are trying to link the bank put their details in, then it keeps saying there is an error (error 103) and just goes back to the log in details.
I have tried copying the web address directly but they get the same issue.
From research it appears to be a specific issue with the Co-Op bank feeds, I was hoping that there may be a fix....

I received an email from QBO advising the direct feed was updated and to 'dis-connect' the relevant account (Co-op Business) and to then 'Add Account'. My thoughts were fantastic, this very long outstanding 'Open Banking' issue has finally been resolved. Did the 'dis-connect'. Cannot now get the account to connect. Outcome, now unable to even download csv files from the Co-op. REsult: One very peeved QBO customer. About to do some research on over accounting packages ability to handle the current 'Co-Op Business ' connection, whilst I am at it, how easy is to import QBO structure into that accounting package. Like others in this thread, really sick to the back teeth for paying for an aspect of QBO that has been defunct for five months!
Absolutely agree - I had exactly the same issue after receiving an email from Inuit on 20 Aug saying the connection to Co-op had been upgraded and got nowhere with the online help or Chat from Quickbooks.
basically they lied about the connection working.
yesterday another email from Intuit saying the issue impacting connection to Co-Op bank Uk has been resolved. Tried again but it now asks for a non-existent password rather the usual User ID's and security code from fob.
they lied again!
come on QB - get this sorted once and for all! I wonder if it due to Co-Op Business banking undergoing some changes and updates to its features that are about to be launched to customers.
I have managed to download CSV and update my Co Op accounts that way but wasted time attempting the Open banking connection that Quickbooks said was working.
Hi AB1966
The Co-op bank are in the process of moving customers to their new online banking website; customers on new online banking are able to connect but those who are still on the old version of online banking are receiving errors 163/193 when connecting.
Do you know if you have been updated to their new online banking?
Thanks
Co-op update is imminent but our business accounts haven't been updated yet.
Will continue with .csv downloads for now. At least they DO work if time consuming.
Suggest the emails sent from Intuit were misleading and could have advised that it wouldn't work until Co-op customers were moved to Co-op's updated online banking. Might have prevented lots of wasted time, effort and frustration for Quickbook customers trying to connect to Co-op accounts.
Not impressed by this poor and inaccurate customer service.
We apologise for any misleading information or confusion caused AB1966, and we'll be sure to pass this back with our team.
Please get back to us here if you're having any trouble connecting the accounts once your business bank has been updated to the new platform.
Thanks
I've just been through this long and painful process. When you get on the new website, see the end of the thread linked below for how to get a fixed connection without using the PIN-entry. Or if you are happy entering the pin pad code each time you can just reconnect the same way it used to work.
