Hello Danbatchelor1-ho, thanks for posting on the Community page, what exactly is happening? Could you provide us with more information so we can help you? Are you getting any error messages or codes showing up? what exactly is the trouble you're having when trying to access your data?
I'm having the same issue. Went online today to complete my 22/23 tax return to find every single transaction has vanished, except my mileage. I've got no receipts so i really hope that it's not lost. I've got no data at all from april 22 until september 23 even. Please help as I'm freaking out!
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, kirstyh82.
I completely understand how frustrating it can be to lose important data like this, especially when it comes to tax returns. I'm here to help and get this sorted out for you.
To begin, have you tried checking the Excluded tab in QuickBooks Online? Transactions that have been excluded will not show up in your account records or financial reports, but they can still be found in the Excluded tab. If the entries are there, you can simply undo them, and they will reappear in your account records.
Here's how:
For in-depth information on what happened to deleted or excluded downloaded data, refer to this article: Exclude a bank transaction you downloaded into QuickBooks Online.
In the event the account is disconnected from your bank feeds, you'll have to reconnect it to bring the entries back into your company. To add the missing data, download the file from your bank's website and manually import the transactions into the program. This guide will walk you through the process: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
Once you've added the bank data to the company, categorize them to the correct account to ensure you can reconcile it seamlessly. To speed up the process of classifying transactions, browse through this article for the complete details: Set up bank rules to categorize online banking transactions.
If you're using QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) and unlinked the online banking connection, the transactions will no longer show on the Transactions page. Let's connect your account to the bank feeds and then categorize them so they'll tracked into the correct line of your Schedule C. For entries that are beyond 90 days, upload them manually via a CSV file.
I've included some resources that tackle processing a tax return using the online version and QBSE as well as steps to handle tax payments and refunds:
If you need further assistance locating your missing transactions or have other concerns or questions about filing your tax return, leave a comment below, kirstyh82. I'll get back to make sure you're taken care of. Enjoy the rest of the day.
I’ve replied to this by email to tell you that like everyone else who is having this problem, I’ve done all of those things with no resolution
Hi Kirsty,
Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I'm having exactly the same issue. Last tax years data isn't showiing at all (2022-23), only mileage, but this years is all there.
