Here are the following scenarios why you're unable connect your bank account:
What you can do is reach to your bank and check for any maintenance update or request to establish a connection with QuickBooks. If everything is good from your bank's side, make sure to select the correct bank name when connecting the account.
Here's how:
I'm adding this article that includes a video tutorial: Connect your bank feed using Open Banking. If you're able to connect the account but can't update the transactions because of a bank error, you can read this article to see the solutions: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.
You can also add the name of your bank and other details in the comments below. This way, I can check our records for any investigations. Thank you in advance.
My bank is a participating bank but there is an error message when it tries to link.
Thanks for chiming in on this thread, Fran Winter.
I'd like to know more about your situation.
What is the exact error message you are getting when trying to link your bank in QuickBooks? This way, we can review if there's an ongoing investigation or provide you with the right solution.
For the time being, you have the option to manually upload your bank transactions. Here's an article for the instructions. Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
Once uploaded, make sure to categorise and match your bank transactions.
I'm just a post away to help you out again. Stay safe!
Mine is showing the message. Picture is attached to this.
I've got some steps we can perform to see if this is just triggered by your bank, or in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), Lschex.
I've checked on this thread and there's no attached photo with the error message you've provided. May I know what's your bank provider? This way we can better isolate if there's an issue with your bank. There are a few reasons why you're getting banking errors in your account. Among these are:
Let's try clicking on Refresh All multiple times on your Banking page to refresh the connection between your financial institutions and QBSE. Then, try connecting your bank account again. If the same thing happens, just manually import your bank transactions using.CSV file. You can get this file from your bank's website. Let me show you how:
For more details about this one, see the Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed article. Then, categorize and edit your transactions after. Once done, please contact our QBSE Customer Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate what's causing this banking error.
Feel free to visit our Banking page for more insights about managing your bank transactions.
You can always go back to this post if you need a hand with creating bank rules or any QBSE related. I'll be here to ensure your success. You have a good one.
This is ridiculous I have been trying for months to resolve bank connection issues but can't even find a way to correspond with quickbooks
Thank you for getting in touch about this, @jbengineerltd-ou.
I want to make sure this is taken care of. May I know if you're getting a specific bank connection error and provide us with the name of your financial institution? This way, with my expertise, I can assure you that I'll exhaust my resources to provide appropriate solutions.
In the meantime, you can take a look at this article to find and fix common connection errors in QuickBooks: Open Banking Connection errors.
Screenshots and other details are much appreciated. If you have additional questions or concerns, feel free to place your comment below. I'll come by to help. Take care always.
I also can't connect my Monzo Bank account with you- trying it for days. Everything works until I accepted everything in my Monzo App but as soon as I go back to the Website nothing happens
I can help you connect your account, Myriam-Romina.
I'd like to verify if you received an error or you can't you find your account?
We haven't received reports from other users who can't connect their Monzo Bank account in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
The issue you received can be related to the saved cache and site history stored in your browser. Let's clear them so you can connect and download your bank account successfully. To do so, let's start by using a private or incognito window of your browser. You can follow the following shortcut keys below for easy navigation:
If it works, you can clear your regular browser's cache to let it start browsing from scratch. But if not, you can use one of our other supported browser apps instead.
In the meantime, you'll want to manually add transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
I'm just a post away to help you out again. Stay safe!
I have not been able to connect to Chase bank for over 2 weeks now. QB support agent on the phone yesterday tried clearing cache and opening incognito window, but it still hasn't worked. He raised a ticket, and I haven't; heard anything. When will this issue be resolved?
Hello, @suchita. Let me share some information about connecting a bank in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).
To refresh the connection between your financial institutions and QBSE, try clicking Refresh All multiple times on your Banking page. After that, reconnect your bank account.
If the same thing happens, simply use a .CSV file to manually import your bank transactions. Here's how:
May I also know what specific issue you have encountered? This way, we can better isolate this matter.
If the same issue persists, you can reach out QBSE Support Team.
See this article to know how to add older transactions in QBSE: Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed. Also, learn more about categorising and editing your transactions.
If you have any other questions related to QuickBooks Self Employed, feel free to leave a comment below. I'll be happy to help you further. Take care and have a great day!
same. looking for an alternative to quickbooks, what a waste.
I am having same issue. I have been connected for 3 years, but in the last week the connection is broken. I have called the bank and all they say is we are working on it. (are they really??) I was on hold for over an hour to hear that from my bank. If QBO working with First National Bank of PA to get the link back up. I do know before this happened i had many times had to verify who I was with a text. That started about a month or 2 ago. Then last week NO connection.
Very frustrating. I do know how to download the file, but would be nice to have the link back and working. Is there a cache or something i can clear to try it again??
This isn't the kind of impression we want you to have, @brustersingomar.
I want to make sure the connection issue with your bank account gets fixed.
Before anything else, did you receive any error message after you've lost connection between your bank and QuickBooks? Any additional information would help us provide the best resolution based on the error prompt.
In the meantime, you can clear your browser's cache to verify if this is a browser issue. It's possible that the browser had a data issue that caused QuickBooks not to connect with your bank.
Once everything is back to usual, you might want to learn more about categorising bank transactions. This helps you put transactions to the correct accounts.
Should you need any additional assistance connecting your bank account, you can leave a comment below. I'll be sure to get back to you, @brustersingomar.
Thanks for getting back
I did clear the Cache - did not fix it.
Here is the error:
Looks like the connection to First National Bank of PA isn’t available right now.
Try again in a few hours. (102)
Well few hours is more like a week. I did look it up and the 102 error says it is the bank problem. Just didn't know if anyone with QBO connections knew of the issue and if they will be resolved soon. The bank is no help - called them and got not answer.
I appreciate you for performing the troubleshooting steps provided by my peer above, @brustersingomar. Let me add some information on how you can fix the bank error 102 in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).
Bank error 102 usually mean there may be a problem from your bank's end. Their website may be undergoing maintenance or have server issues. You can visit this article to learn what you can do if you see error 102 in QBSE: Fix bank error 102 and 105.
In the meantime, you can manually import your bank transactions into QBSE. Here's how you can manually upload your transactions using a CSV file:
I'd also recommend reaching out to your bank to confirm if there's an ongoing issue on their end.
Additionally, you can check out this article to learn more about how you can categorise your bank transactions in QBSE: Manually import transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed.
Fill me in if you have other questions about bank error 102 in the QBSE. I'll be happy to help you again. Keep safe and take care.
Had issues with my bank accounts not connecting last week had to delete all and re-connect. Same this happening this week. Yes, I have called the bank and it is not on their end according to them. This really needs to get fixed and no I do not want to have to go through so many steps to download transactions every day. If transactions were already downloaded will they download again? Called support and the person I got was of no help after being on the phone for and hour and half.
Hello OMG3,
What bank are you with? Also what bank account type is it? Are there any error messages or codes showing up at all? Do you use one of our Quickbooks online packages or our self employed package?
We are with Webster Bank and the error code is (102).
Thanks for the information so if you have a look at this link here it will tell you the steps you need to take in order to fix banking error (102).
I have tried that. I have deleted the bank, re-linked it. I have tried many times for the past week. So this is not a day or 2 fix. My bank is not giving any suggestions.
Yes I know how to download the transactions.
It is frustrating that it worked for years then this last week nothing.
ALSO-- I may repost this issue. Somehow I am in a UK community. Not sure how I got here.
Thanks
same. it's not the bank or the browser, it's quickbooks and the issue has been known for months. we just keep getting the same responses, no fix in sight. waste of time
Hi I deleted duckduckgo and my quickbooks linked to bank again, think it's to do with duckduckgo actively blocking other search engines from collecting user data
I think was trying to redirect me back through duckduckgo instead of Google
Mine ok now just gotta learn to do self assessments now :upside_down_face:
My Tide account connected fine to QuickBooks self employed but now is not connecting.
I can get as far as signing into Tide, selecting which account to reconnect with but when it redirects back to QuickBooks it freezes, just minutes of the spinning circle. Pic attached.
How can I help this please before I select another account provider?
Thank you.
