How do I see all QB desktop transactions for a given day? I added
Here's what I've done so far... Reports > custom reports > transaction detail.
Then choose today's date range.
Put check mark under "Last modified by" then click okay.
I can only see invoices. Earlier today I choose banking > transfer funds then made entry for funds transfer between accounts and saved my work.
However, I don't see that transfer on transaction detail report.
I want to run a report to see EVERYTHING THAT WAS DONE TODAY! How do I accomplish that?
Thanks,
-Ken

Hi Ken,
You're actually on the right track. Kindly double-check the date of the transfer transaction. It should be within the date range on your report. If it's within the range, try recreating it or run the Verify and Rebuild data utilities to check for issues.
You can also change the Detail Level of the report to Summary only. That way, you will only see a single line for each transaction, not the journal.
Here's an article for your additional reference: Customise report in QuickBooks Desktop.

My date range was the issue. Wow, thank you so much. That was my first question I posted and got a quick answer! Thanks so much!!!

Hi JessT,
I found this thread and this is really works in my reporting. The only thing I want to add is the P.O. No. I go to customize report and check the P.O. # column but it doesn't show the PO number in the report. Could you please see if you can help me on this.
Additional note. we are using a customize template in our purchase order entry.
Hello there, @EmersonSB. I'm here to help you get the data you want when running reports in QuickBooks Desktop.
Purchase orders are non-posting account register lists transactions that don't directly affect the balance of what your company is worth. That's why, despite selecting P.O. # while customizing the report, it still didn't appear on the Custom Transaction Detail Report.
Alternatively, you can run the Open Purchase Orders, Open Purchase Orders Detail, Open Purchase Orders by Job Report, or any other Vendor reports. This allows you to get the data you want. Let me walk you through how:
Once you're all set, check out this additional guide about keeping your books in order: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Desktop.

Hi Mich_S,
Thank you for replying. The report you mentioned is for open purchase order. What I want to do is to generate a report for what I have received for a specific period. this transactional report works fine however I just want to add the PO number.
For example. what are the items we received yesterday. the output should be invoice#, PO#, line items, qty, sales price and amount.
Thanks for getting back to us, Emerson.
I have another report in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) that will show you the purchase order number of items you've received.
To do that, you can generate a vendor's transaction list. Then, customise it to display only the required information.
Please refer to these steps:
Furthermore, you can memorise reports in QBDT to save their customization settings. This way, you can have quick access to your frequently used reports.
Feel free to get back to us if you have additional concerns about running reports. We'll ensure to respond to your questions at the earliest time possible. Keep safe.
