Hi,

Any help to fix this issue would be appreciated.
Hello Jaygee11,
What version are you trying to update to in desktop?
Can you press F2 in the product it should tell you the what release are on and if you could let us know thanks.
This link below will help you as well.
QB 2010 doesn't support Win 10. Try reinstall it with Compatibility Mode Win 7. If the problem persists, consider upgrading to QB 2020. If your company is not located in UK, consider cross-grading to QBD US version with a one time license.
Hi Ashleigh1,
Release is R1P
Hi Ashleigh1,

I appreciate you for joining the thread, jaapkrijger. I'm here to help you with updating your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Instead of clicking on the link provided by Ashleigh1 above, you can use this: Downloads & Updates. From there, you can search and download the QuickBooks version you need.
If you receive error 12007, it means that QBDT can't successfully connect to the internet which causes issues during the update. To isolate the issue, you need to do the following:

hi i have tried everything to update my quick books 2010 but nothing works
I appreciate your efforts in performing the steps to update your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) account, @bmwplumbing. I'm here to share with you some additional information about this.
QBDT 2010 is already outdated. Users with this version may not enjoy the latest available features and updates. Thus, it's one factor why you can't update your account.
As of now, you can consider upgrading your QuickBook account to the supported versions (QBDT 2019, QBDT 2020, and QBDT 2021).
If you don't need the add-on services, your product will continue to work for you for tracking purposes. However, you'll not be able to enjoy the online services and subscribe to live technical support or any of the other Intuit services that can be integrated with QuickBooks Desktop.
If you wish to upgrade your subscription, you can use this link as your reference: Upgrade QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Desktop Prem.
Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm more than happy to help. Have a good one!
I long gave up on QBDT 2010. Have asked around and been given a copy of QB Premier... 2016, exactly what I needed. Have never been interested in online, have never used any additional stuff. So am happy as it is. My problem was more than one, to run 2018 or newer you need Win8 or newer, which my 2009 comp can't do....
I appreciate the fact that you used our system years ago, @jaapkrijger.
Getting the QuickBook Desktop (QBDT) 2018 is my top priority here. This way, you can begin to manage your company file in an updated version.
Obsolete Windows computers are more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. That's why QuickBooks requires you to use updated Windows to run your business smoothly. For additional guidance, see this link: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2018 and Enterprise Solutions 18.0.
As an option, I would recommend contacting an IT guy. They may find a way to how your computer runs Windows 8 or later. This way, you can install the QBDT 2018 version as soon as possible. To download this, please click the link provided by Angelyn_T above.
Additionally, once QBDT 2018 is installed, you can obtain the latest version (2022) at any time. In doing so, you can take advantage of the latest features and updates available. Check out this article for more information: What’s new in QuickBooks Desktop 2022.
Moreover, here are helpful answers to frequently asked questions if you use older Windows:

You can purchase a one time license of QB Desktop 2019 UK version to lower your cost when upgrading your version.
Install and run your QBD in compatibility mode Win 7.
