Hi I'm new to QB and have been experiencing a few bugs(?). I'm using QB Self Employed Online in Windows and the app in Android.
I'm trying to add my mileage manually/retroactively back to the start of the tax year but QB will only let me date trips back to when I joined QB? So at the minute I have a bunch of trips all dated May 9th and it won't let me change the date further back. I've tried in both Windows (Edge and Chrome) and Android. And yes I am clicking the green save button.
I thought perhaps it's because it only has be 'owning the vehicle' from that date but I don't appear to have the 'Edit Vehicle' option mentioned in other help topics.
Any help appreciated, thanks.
Alex

Hi there, Shakiel.
I'll provide information and help you share steps to resolve your issue about mileage and invoices.
The issue that was mentioned above has been resolved and there are no other open investigations related to this.
Since when you edit the mileage it will save back under 2019, I suggest performing the troubleshooting steps provided on this article to resolve problems on tracking your work trips: Fix mileage tracking issues in QuickBooks Self-Employed for Android.
On the other hand, there are times that performance issues in the QuickBooks App are caused by a full cache. This can also be the reason why invoice numbers didn't show in the subject line when sent by email.
To fix this, I suggest resetting the app data to clear the cache and refresh it into its default state.
Here's how:
If the issue still persists, I suggest uninstalling/reinstalling the QuickBooks app. This is to ensure you get the most recent version of the application.
Once one of our support told you that they'll respond to you, rest assured you will receive an answer from them. We also have limited staff and reduced support hours to 6 AM-6 PM PT Monday-Friday due to the pandemic. This might also the reason that the response is delayed.
Please check this article to see steps on how you can make any changes details from different transactions using the QBO app: Edit details in a transaction using the QuickBooks Online app.

Hello Alex,
Do you get any error message when you try to enter the date, or will it just not allow you to select a date prior to May?
Thanks,
Talia
Hi Talia, thanks for replying. No error messages. It allows me to change the date in the calendar but as soon as I click save it reverts to the original date.
Hello Alex,
Can I confirm if the app is on the latest version?
Do you receive any sort of error messages when attempting to make the changes?
When using the website there are no error messages. When I use the app it says 'Error. Unable to update your trip.' I am using the Self Employed app (version 5.11) download from Play Store May 9th. As far as I can tell there are no updates. Thanks
Could you please send us a screenshot of this? Please cut out any confidential information, as this is a public forum.
Thanks,
Talia
I’m having this issue too. Incredibly annoying. I’m entering trips from October 2019 and the date keeps reverting to the date that I’m making the entry, 1/11/2020.
I appreciate you joining in the thread, @Bullionlaw.
There is an ongoing issue at this time about mileage auto-tracking not working using an Android phone. Our engineers have deployed a fix for this.
You can attempt updating the mobile app to the latest version to solve this unexpected behavior.
If the issue persists, I'd suggest reaching out to our QBSE Support so they can pull up your account and sign you up to receive email updates as soon as they become available.
Let me know if you need anything else. I'm here to help. Have a good one.
I'm unable to do this either and am using the desktop version as I can't see any way of doing this via the app, so it's not an android fault.
Thanks for joining this thread, Namorth.
Our Product Team is still working so you'll be able to save the changes on your trips.
I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Technical Team so they can your account as one of the affected users. This way, you'll receive updates regarding the issue via email.
Here's how to get in touch with them:
I appreciate your patience and understanding while we look into this.
Same problem here. And I am using the desktop version. I enter the date of 10/11/19, and when I go to save, it reverts to today's date. So frustrating.
Let me share the steps on how to resolve the issue in QuickBooks Desktop, denis211.
First, make sure that QuickBooks is updated to its latest maintenance release. Here's how:
Second, record a trip to check if the dates are saving correctly.
Just in case it's still reverting back to today's date, proceed to repairing QuickBooks. Follow the steps in this article for more details: Repair your QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.
Once done, record a trip to check if it's already working fine. I'd be glad to get back here if you need anything else.
I have QuickBooks Self-Employed. If you click on the Help "menu" all you get is a search box. And I have not been able otherwise to figure out how to update the program. Very frustrating.
Thanks for clarifying, @denis211.
The steps provided above are intended for QuickBooks Desktop. Also, I've checked the records and found out that there's an open investigation about editing date on a manually added trip that does not save changes when the page is refreshed.
I recommend contacting our customer care support so they can review your account. This will help them to further investigate the error and help you fix it. Here's how:

So am I right in thinking this STILL hasn't been resolved? It's a known error but we need to contact the assistant, who can't fix it?
I've checked, this is still open right now, Namorth.
We advise users to contact our Support; so they can add your company information to the list of affected users. We won't be able to get it from here cause this is a public forum, and we don't want fraudsters to know your email, phone number, etc. You can follow the steps in this article: Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support.
In the meantime, you can delete and recreate the affected transaction to show the correct date.
Rest assured that our engineers will fix this issue, so you can freely edit the dates of your transactions.
Please don't hesitate to go back to this thread if you have other questions.
Am actually cancelling my subscription to QB now we've hit the end of the tax year as there are just too many glitches in it which never seem to get resolved.
Interesting hearing about the many glitches and non fixes. I'm trialing quickbooks and had some issues. I'm also experiencing above issue trying to add in mileage from July 1st 2020. It adds the info no problem, but it saves under the year 2019.
Using the mobile app, info saves finee and when I check on my desktop it saves under the year 2020! If I do any edit it will then save back under 2019.
I've had other issues where my invoices didn't show the invoice # in the subject line when sent by email. It show the sample that you see in the email setup section. Very unprofessional for a client to see this. Haven't got any proper help with this either. Was told I'd have a response within 1 day. Still waiting!

ChristieAnn,
Thank you for your prompt reply and advice on troubleshooting the issues. Much appreciated!
I have managed to get around the mileage issue by entering them in as 2nd of July 2020 instead of the 1st, good enough for me.
Invoicing emails still doing the same thing in the subject line.
Invoice[InvoiceNo.]from
When clicking 'save and send' the above shows in the preview screen, in subject, before clicking 'send and close'. I've made a dummy invoice and confirmed that it still shows in the subject once sent to an email.
Thanks again for the reply, community section has been a big help. I originally followed procedure and used live chat help and also phoned through to the help desk which I thought would be the best way.
Good day, Shakiel.
I'm joining this thread so I can further assist you with invoicing.
I created and sent an invoice using the QuickBooks Self-Employed Mobile App and the web version. I added the invoice number on the subject line and it both shows on the email.
If this error occurred on the mobile app, please perform the troubleshooting provided by ChristieAnn. Also, you'll want to send the invoice using a browser. Here are the additional steps if the same thing happens:
Additionally, I just want to make sure that you're using QuickBooks Self-Employed. Based on your descriptions, it seems that you're subscribed to QuickBooks Online. If so, here are some of the articles you can check:

I have been trying to change the dates but there is no option that i can see to edit. You can add but not even delete. Please help me. I am using essetial Qb on line.
Hi there, @Bmg11.
Thanks for joining in the conversation. At the moment, the option to delete downloaded trips is currently unavailable.
However, you can edit the dates of your trips, ensure that you're logged in as a master admin. Then, sign in to QuickBooks Online in a web browser to make changes. Here's how:
In case you're still unable to see the edit option, I'd recommend you use another-supported browser. You can also follow the steps to clear your browser's cache to quickly fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

How do you change trip locations. It wont let you edit them later in the day when working on the pc trying to tidy up things that you do not have time to mess about with on the App - you need to get to jobs. It is often wrong or defaults to the nearest address when you might be going to someone on the same street.
Why does it not let you enter in favourites or default to favourites.
I am in the UK when you start looking for things it goes in US locations first.
The mileage app at best is clunky, could be good but currently easier just to write it in a book
We don't want you to have an experience like this, @Mr G1.
I can help you with adding the correct address for this trip.
To track your trips accurately, make sure to turn on the Motion & Fitness, Background App Refresh, and Cellular Data options for iOS. On Android, make sure QuickBooks can run in the background and turn your phone’s location accuracy to on. Refer to this article on how you can manage your Android device’s location settings.
You can make a new trip and add the precise address after deleting the one with the incorrect address.
To delete the trip:
To add the trip:
