I can help you get logged in to your account, userrollergaragesolu.

 

Let's make sure that the number associated with your account is correct. If you're still unable to get a text message after verifying that the number is appropriate, A possible browser issue might have caused this. Let's try logging in to your account using an incognito window. Please use these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Ctrl Shift N  for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift P for Firefox
  • Control Option +if you're using Safari

If it works, let's go back to your main browser and clear its cache. This removes browsing history and starts your browser fresh. Also, use other supported browsers as an alternative.

tried all that - doesn't work.

This is third time this has happened and previous times it was an issue between QB and the phone network.

Can you let me know the status and expected resolution time.

Currently, we don't have a time frame of when this will be resolved, our engineers are working on getting this resolved as soon as possible and are working on it right now. Soon as we get any updates we will let our customers know.

For me this is now resolved. (O2 network)

You need a better system to resolve these issues. Other companies have a backup system that uses approved email addresses.

My security texts are not coming through. I'm on the Virgin network UK. It's a problem as text verification is the only option when inviting a new accountant. Help please! Thanks.

Thanks for joining the thread, @Paul185.

 

If you're having a hard time getting a code to send on your phone number, you can select the email address where you want to receive the code. To do this is to have the Two-step verification code to be turned off in your account. 

 

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your account. 
  2. Select Sign in & Security
  3. Choose Two-step verification and Turn Off
  4. You will then be asked to enter your password to proceed.

Once done, try to invite your accountant again and check if you now have the option to select email.

Is there a way to remove phone call/text verification as a way to verify? Email is preferred, as I do not have access to a US phone contact at all times. Please help!

QuickBooks users will get text verification when inviting an accountant to their account. You can perform some basic troubleshooting to isolate and fix the problem.

 

This issue is usually resolved by enabling phone verification back. I recommend going through your Intuit account again to update the settings.

 

Also, please check your verified phone number and ensure the digits are correct. There are times it can be overlooked during the setup process.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Log in to your Intuit account.
  2. Go to Sign In & Security.
  3. Verify your phone number.
  4. Under Sign in info, turn on 2-step verification.
  5. Choose Phone number as the verification method.
  6. Select Text message.
  7. Hit Continue.

 

If the problem persists, please proceed with contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They'll need to take over and assist you further with the account issue related to inviting an account.

 

Our dedicated support is equipped with the necessary tools to check your account. Please reach them through these steps:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks account.

I am unable to receive SMS (text message) for Phone # verification or activating 2-factor authentication.

I recognize the significance of this topic. I'm here to put you in the right direction in resolving this issue in QuickBooks Online.

 

There are possible reasons why you didn't receive a verification text message:

 

  • The phone number that is associated with your Intuit Account is incorrect.
  • Your phone plan doesn’t include SMS text messages. 
  • Your phone plan doesn’t allow you to receive messages from short codes. You'll want to reach out to your phone provider to see if your plan can be configured to receive SMS messages and short codes, allowing you to receive Intuit validation codes.

 

I recommend contacting our support team to assist you further with being unable to receive a verification via text message. They're the ones who have access to your account and be able to see it through screen sharing.

 

Here's how:   

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Going to Help (?).
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, example: then select Let's talk.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us: Start a chat, Get a callback, and Ask the Community.

I've come to help ensure you'll receive login verification codes to allow access to your account, Abigail.

 

When managing company accounts in QuickBooks, it's best to regularly check and update the phone numbers associated with your online account. Some possible reasons why these verification messages aren't going through your mobile number are shared by my colleagues above. 

 

If you're using a different phone number or not having any access to the old one, we can submit an Email Change Request form to ensure changes to your mobile number are updated. To do this:

 

  1. You'll need to complete the Email Change Request form.
  2. Attach a copy of any of your photo ID forms:
    1. Select Browse.
    2. Find and select the file.
    3. Select Open.
  3. Once the file is uploaded, click Submit.
  4. Once you receive a notification that your phone number is updated, sign in to your Intuit account.
  5. From the left menu, select Sign in & security.
  6. Select the 2-step verification section, then toggle the Use 2-step verification switch to off.
  7. Enter the code, then select Continue.

I dont recive any OTP or voice calls. Im based in UAE, provider Etisalat. I cant change phone number or create new users. Everything has been stuck becuase of this issue and I cannot reach a real human being! Disaster! I need assitance asap!!!

They have the tools to pull up your account and guide you further through this process. when we are not getting OTP by sms how we can activate even this 2-step verification ? Your solution does not help. I am not able to active even Authenticator App.

Since you're unable to open your QuickBooks account, you'll want to reach out to our QuickBooks Support Team through this website: Contact QuickBooks Support. You'll need to reach out to them so they can pull up your account in a secure space. You can do a screen-sharing session with them to guide you in managing your verification concern.

This is not acceptable!!

The verification SMS takes at least 30 seconds to receive, which is far too slow for starters.


And as displayed above, there absolutely has to be an alternative method like using the email address for when the sms verification that you guys use is down completely.

This is NOT a minor inconvenience it's a fundamental issue that needs to be prioritised before adding any new features.
