Introducing a reimagined, consolidated interface to help you work smarter and better serve your clients

We’re making sure QuickBooks is working harder than ever with features and tools that improve your workflows, empowering you to do more for your clients—all on one platform. We have redesigned the QuickBooks experience to make it more intuitive, connected and efficient. And, under your guidance and control, Intuit’s AI agents will soon be able to help you reduce repetitive tasks and improve your efficiency every day.

Once you opt in, a refreshed interface for QuickBooks makes it easier for you to collaborate and get work done—offering a better overview of your clients’ businesses in one comprehensive and customisable control centre.

Powered by connected data, the new interface improves your experience with upgrades like a new app carousel, smarter navigation and improved insights and reporting through a customisable performance dashboard, and coming soon: a control centre where you and your clients can review tasks performed by AI agents.

The new Business Feed will also be able to surface intelligent insights and activity updates, providing your first look at the future of connected, insight-driven accounting.

Getting familiar with the improvements in next evolution of QuickBooks

We understand you’re accustomed to using QuickBooks in a way that works for you, and changes can take some getting used to. The new experience builds on what already works, while giving you a clearer, faster and more organised way to manage your clients’ finances.

The new experience will become the default soon. We recommend trying it out now to be ready for the change. For a limited time, you'll have the chance to opt out if needed—but eventually, everyone will switch over to the new experience. We’ll also provide some helpful resources at the end of this article to set you up for success.

These updates are designed to make your workflow smoother, your insights clearer and your time better spent.

Let’s dive in!

At the heart of the new interface is the app carousel, your home for navigation. First, let’s get familiar with the way we refer to a few items:

  • Previously, you may have referred to items like Accounting and Expenses as modules, pages, or screens. Now, they’re called apps.

  • For third-party plug-ins that you may have previously referred to as apps, those are now called integrations and are found in the top right corner under the plug icon.

In the new interface, all your bookkeeping tasks are located in a handy app carousel. This makes it quicker to switch between areas of your business without needing to move through multiple menus. Some of the names are new, but the features remain the same.

You can also access those same apps from the app carousel using My apps on the left side of your screen. This provides another way to access the things you use most.

Let’s take a tour through the new app carousel and menu options, so you can see the new interface in action:

Put everything within reach using new customisation options

Just under the app carousel, your dashboard now has an easy way to create customised actions you can bookmark. Plus, you can customise your dashboard workspace with a greater selection of widgets than ever before.

Now, instead of using the +New button, you’ll use the Create button to find options for things like Customers, Suppliers, and Team.

Find anything faster with smart search

A consolidated smart search bar now allows you to search for anything including customers, reports, help or even a subset of transactions, like “transactions over £3000.”

Smart search brings together results from across QuickBooks, so you can find what you need quickly and stay focused on your work.

This new unified search replaces the need to move between multiple menus, providing a smoother and faster way to find information.

Improved insights and reporting, tailored to your business

A customisable performance dashboard will track your business’ financial health and highlight what needs your attention most.

  • [Coming Soon] AI-powered insight will help detect new trends or anomalies in your business—and what's driving them—so you don't have to spend time digging through transactions or analysing reports. Plus, stay on top of business health with P&L and balance sheet insights.

  • [Coming Soon] You'll be able to track the top financial KPIs with a new KPI scorecard to give you a quick glance at how your business is performing.

  • [Coming Soon] Access more in-depth reporting and budgeting information. Quickly track what you’re making and spending, and make smart money decisions with AI-powered insights that help enhance profitability.

QuickBooks connects your tools and data in one place so you can see what’s happening and surfaces helpful insights to inform you what to focus on next.

Coming soon: Your new Business Feed

Soon the new business feed will become your central hub for live insights, notifications and, in time, AI agent collaboration.

Built on the Intuit platform, the Business Feed will bring together information from across QuickBooks and other connected Intuit apps, giving you and your clients a single view of the activity and insights that matter most. This will become your central hub where activity and insights appear.

You’ll also be able to get a quick summary of what AI agents and automation have done for you to review and approve—making hunting and digging unnecessary—along with tips on what’s next.

A new chat feature helps businesses and their accountants work together, as well as an improved mobile experience, and third-party app compatibility.

Recapping the latest features at a glance

Now that you’ve seen how the new QuickBooks interface works, let’s run through a summary of the key changes and improvements:

  • Global naming changes:

    • Previously, items like Accounting and Expenses were referred to as modules, pages, or screens. Now, they’re called apps.

    • For third-party plug-ins that you may have previously referred to as apps, those are now called integrations and are found in the top right corner under the plug icon.

  • The app carousel: All your key bookkeeping tasks are now located here at the top of your screen.

  • My apps: At the left side of your screen, this menu gives you another way to access many of the same apps found in the app carousel.

    • Accounting: All your accounting items, like bank transactions, reconciliation, recurring transactions, chart of accounts, and more.

    • Expenses & Bills: Everything you use to manage your expenses.

    • Sales & Get Paid: Track estimates, invoices, reports, and more.

    • Team: Edit or add team members.

    • VATx: Manage and submit MTD for VAT.

    • Income Tax: Prepare for Self-Assessment, MTD for IT ready.

    • Payroll: The diamond icon indicates that this is a paid add-on. Click on Payroll to learn how to subscribe to QuickBooks Payroll and integrate it directly into your workflow.

  • Pinned apps: Pin up to 3 of your favourite apps by selecting Customise.

  • My menu (Accountant tools): Accountant tools are now located in the My menu section on the top left corner of your screen with the briefcase icon. You can customise your menu with your selections from Sections, Bookmarks, Create, and Tools.

  • Customisable shortcuts: The customisable Create actions menu is located at the top of the dashboard (below the App carousel). You can add up to 10 shortcuts here for easy access.

  • More widgets and a customisable dashboard: You now have more widgets to choose from. Your default dashboard view can now be more personalized by adjusting size, position, and selection of widgets.

  • Create button: Similar to the +New button from the previous interface, hover to find options for things like Customers, Suppliers, and Team.

  • Bookmarks: Bookmarks function as before. Bookmark any page for easy access.

  • Smart search: Consolidated smart search at the top of your screen allows you to search for anything—reports, customers, help articles, or even a range of transactions like “transactions over £3,000”.

Reports: You can find reports in the left menu as before, but now you’ll also find your financial planning tab containing the cash flow overview and cash flow planner functions.
