How do I add Bill Pay for my clients?

QuickBooks Bill Pay is available to your clients with an existing QuickBooks Online subscription.

In QuickBooks Online Accountant, navigate to Subscriptions and billing and select the All Clients tab. From the Client actions dropdown for your client, select Add QuickBooks Bill Pay. This will lead you to a page where you can select Bill My Firm or Bill My Client. From there, you can select the Bill Pay tier for your client. Your client will receive an email to log into QuickBooks Online and complete a business information application. Once they submit their application and are approved, both you and your client will receive an email notification.

Once the client’s application is approved, you’ll receive an email letting you know you can select a plan. Click through this email to visit QuickBooks Online Accountant to do so.

Can my client track their bills in QuickBooks Online without a Bill Pay plan?

How do I share my accountant discount for QuickBooks Payments with my client?

For your new client:

In QuickBooks Online Accountant, go to your client list and in the upper right-hand corner, select Add Client.

After you fill out the client’s basic information, followed by the right QuickBooks Online product for their needs, you’ll see the option to add QuickBooks Payments.

From there, you will proceed to a confirmation page where you can review your client’s product selections and place the order.

After the order is placed, your client will receive a special link via email to access their QuickBooks products and complete their application for QuickBooks Payments.

For your existing client:

In QuickBooks Online Accountant, select ProAdvisor, and then Benefits.

From the Payments section, select Share Info and then Copy Page Link to paste a link in a message. You can also select Share Via Email to send it directly to your client.

If your client is approved, they’ll receive your discount on all processing fees right away. They can start accepting payments through their invoices, with payment links, or by using the GoPayment app and card reader. Note that approval usually takes 1–3 business days. They must use this specific link they received via email in order to take advantage of the discount and should not separately apply for QuickBooks Payments.

Which clients are eligible for QuickBooks Payments?

What’s the next step after I recommend QuickBooks Payments to my client?

Your client will receive an email and an in-product notification informing them that you recommended QuickBooks Payments. For your client, signing up takes about 5 minutes. Your client will need to provide information about themselves and their business, including their EIN, Social Security number, and where they want their deposits to go. Only the primary admin can apply.

Once your client has completed the application process, we will notify you within Quickbooks Online Accountant. You can check their account by going to the tool icon in the corner and selecting Accountant and Settings. Go to the Payments tab where you’ll see their payments information if they’ve signed up.

Am I eligible for revenue share?

How does the revenue share program work for QuickBooks Payments?

Once you’re enrolled in the revenue share program, you’ll receive a monthly payout for all eligible users added through revenue share. Please note that it may take a couple months to begin receiving payouts because it is calculated only after your client begins paying and/or receiving payments. Payouts will be made once a month to all eligible QuickBooks Online Accountant firms and sent via direct deposit to the account you specify during enrollment.

Revenue share payment(s) are calculated based on the net revenue from the transactions your clients process in QuickBooks Payments. Net revenue consists of the transaction fees that QuickBooks charges minus the fees that we pay to our processing partners (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, issuing banks, etc).

The firm will be eligible to receive Revenue Share for 3 years starting from the date a client is added to the program. You can see your eligible clients by going to Payments Revenue Share in the added tab located in the Settings page. This is where you can see your client’s expiration date.
