What is EOFY?

End of financial year (EOFY) refers to a period of time at the end of the fiscal year when businesses report on financial results.

In Australia, the financial year ends on 30 June 2023 and you must lodge your taxes with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) by 31 October 2023. If you use a registered tax agent they can lodge it at a later date but you would need to engage them before 31 October.

QuickBooks Online can help you prep and keep everything in order and ready for tax time.

What is tax time?

Tax time (or tax season) in Australia runs from the beginning of July to 31 October. During this busy period, businesses and individuals prepare and lodge their tax returns.

That’s where accounting software like QuickBooks Online comes in handy. A tax agent can also help lodge your tax return through QuickBooks Online. Companies and ABN holders have until 31 May the following year.

With all your financial data in one place, it’s easier to prep and lodge a complete and compliant tax return with the ATO.
