A client is trying to add me and when I try to accept the invitation by entering my login info and selecting go, nothing happens.

Hello Chrissy,

 

Thanks for being part of the QuickBooks ProAdvisor family! I love that you're using QuickBooks Online to connect with your clients and help them complete the necessary bookkeeping tasks to run their businesses. It's important that you're able to access your client's books, and accepting their invitation to be an accountant user is the first step. Let me point you in the right direction to get this issue resolved.

 

The first troubleshooting steps to take are related to your internet browser. Since QuickBooks is a web-based software, the iamges and files stored in your browser's cache can cause problems with the way the program runs. Clearing your cache and other browser troubleshooting steps help us to determine the root of the problem. Please give the steps below a try:

 

 

One thing that may work, is to try copying the link in the invite email you've received and pasting it into a new browser window after you've cleared the cache, or an private browsing window. It's also important to note that these user invites expire after 48 hours so if you received it more than a few days ago, it's possible that that's the reason why you're not able to sign in from the link. 

 

If the browser troubleshooting doesn't hit the mark, you should have your client delete your user and re-send the invitation. Here's how they can do that:

 

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon while logged in as a user with privileges to add and manage users.
  2. Choose Manage users.
  3. Locate your accountant user and use the arrow in the Action column to select Delete.
  4. Hit Delete again in the confirmation window.

 

Once they've deleted your existing profile they can invite you again from the Manage users page or by navigating to the My Accountant tab. Make sure that you're keeping an eye on your inbox so that you see the invite and attempt to accept it as soon as you see it. 

 

If you're still having difficulty accessing your client's company, I recommend reaching out to our team of QuickBooks Online support experts. They have access to the tools needed to help you out. Your client may need to get in touch in order for an agent to help walk them through some steps, but I know they'll help you get this resolved if you're not able to otherwise.
