Cost of retaining historical data in QBO

Hello everyone. Our company is in the process of transitioning to another accounting software from quickbooks online but we would like to retain our historical records in Quickbooks Online. Does anyone know the cost of retaining historical data in quickbooks if we don't continue to use it anymore? We won't be using it going forward but would like to access our historical data in there already.

Cost of retaining historical data in QBO

Hi anumtahir,

Welcome to Community!  We're saddened to hear that you'll be leaving the QuickBooks family.  However, it's important to ensure the best fit for your business needs.  With regards to your QuickBooks data, you'll have 'read only' access for one year from the date of cancellation.  I recommend exporting your data to prevent loss of your records, if you don't re-subscribe within the 12-month window.  Here's a helpful guide to assist you with cancelling your QuickBooks Online account.

Feel free to reach out with any other questions or concerns.  We'd be happy to help!

Cost of retaining historical data in QBO

Thanks for responding. If we want to keep access to our QBO account but we aren't using it as we have migrated to a different accounting software then does it mean we need to keep paying for regular subscription? Is there a cost to keep a read only access past the one year from cancellation for all entities that we used QBO for? Please let me know asap.

Thanks,

Anum

Cost of retaining historical data in QBO

Hi anumtahir,

Thanks for getting back to us here for additional information.  One of the many great things that QuickBooks Online has to offer, is the ability to access your account for a full year, after cancelling your subscription.  If you need an extension, you'll just want to log into your account and re-subscribe before the cancellation date reaches the deadline.  The subscription fee is prorated, so you'll be charged for the first month.  This will activate the account so you can add or edit any data, as you see necessary.  Follow the steps to cancel again, so you have another year to access your company, from the date of cancellation.

Please don't hesitate to ask other questions.  We're always glad to assist!
