JE payments don't appear under "Expense" - any solution?

Hi everyone,

As a small business without a business credit card yet, I make alot of payments using my personal accounts.

I follow quickbooks online recommended method for that: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-ca/business-accounts/pay-for-business-expenses-with-p...

Issue I have is that even though I include name of supplier for each transaction, none of the transactions appear if I open the Expenses tab or Suppliers tab.

Any reason why that's the case, and any other solution or alternative way of managing these transactions that would allow me to see expenses properly?

Hi Mazaya.

Being able to track your expenses that you pay for using your personal accounts is crucial to make sure you can receive those funds back once your company accounts are made. I'd be happy to help you with why your journal entries are not showing in the expenses or supplier tabs.

When you post a journal entry it doesn't show in either the expense or suppliers tab. This is due to the journal entry posting only to the accounts that are selected. If you wish to have it show under the expense or suppliers tab I recommend reaching out to your accountant to see if they have any other ways to post it that'll allow it to show in those sections also. If you don't have an accountant no worries, we can help. In your QuickBooks Online account you can go to My Accountant>Find a pro to help to find one in your area.
