My co-worker (who is the Admin in the Desktop version) our computers aren't syncing properly.

Basically, I noticed a couple months back that my computer had single user mode on, which I never do since I'm not the Admin. Anywho, I switched it back to multi-user mode and we slowly realized that none of the entries we were making seem to show up on the others' program. Not every entry is this way though, I can still see most of what she files, and she can see most of mine. But I know the computers aren't in sync and I'm sure there's a simple way to fix this, I just have tried google, tried going to the Admin's computer and we both sat there for an hour trying different ways to get things back organized.

Hey there PepperoniLover,

Thanks for reaching out to us here. QuickBooks Desktop is a great software that can help keep your books balanced. I would be happy to provide some information.

There are a few things that may be causing this to happen.

  • QuickBooks may not be installed on the server.
  • The hosting settings may not be configured properly.
  • The antivirus or the firewall may not be allowing communication between user computers.
  • QuickBooks company file is not accessible by the database server
  • Windows file permissions were not set properly.

I recommend reviewing this article on how to Fix company file and network issues with QuickBooks File Doctor

In addition, I encourage you to take a look at this helpful guide on Features available and tasks you can perform in single or multi-user mode in QuickBooks Desktop as well as Host your company data in multi-user mode in QuickBooks Desktop
