Old backup files

I am cleaning up the files from my predecessor, and there are a number of large QBW and ADR files. I understand these are Quickbooks Desktop backup files. We now have Quickbooks Online (as of about 3 years ago). Do I need to keep any or all of these files? Maybe only the most recent ones?

I also feel like this is a question for someone from Quickbooks directly, not a community question necessarily (although opinions are welcome) but I can't figure out how to contact support save for the extremely useless "QB Assistant" that just keeps asking me to rephrase my question.

Thanks

Chandra

Hi Chandra,

Thanks for taking the time to reach out in the community. QuickBooks is a powerful program that helps you bring your financials into focus and I'll be happy to share more information so you're on the right track.

Keeping your files is an option that's completely open to you. If you've managed to successfully migrate your data to QuickBooks Online and you don't need to reference the QBW files, you can delete them if you don't need them anymore. Let me know if you need to transfer some of the data from the QBW/ADR files into QB Online. I'd be glad to give you a hand with that.

Otherwise, let me know if you have other questions, I'm here to help.

Thanks.  As mentioned, the migration happened about 3 years ago so it sounds like if the company hasn't needed them in 3 years they're not going to need them, is that a fair assumption?

I see what you're saying. The choice is completely up to you. However, there aren't any issues on our end if you decide to delete the files since you already have your data on your QB Online account. Feel free to ask questions.
