Quickbooks is printing previous check entered and not the one I just entered.

I recently upgraded to QB nonprofit 2020. When I go to enter and print a check, I enter all the information in the check screen (check#, Amount, Payee, Memo, Account type, etc...), then I click print at the top, confirm check #, print. The check that comes out is not the check I just entered information in for but a check that has already been printed from a previous entry. What's going on? How do I get Quickbooks to print the check I just entered and confirmed all the info for?

Hi Bethesda1181,

It's great to see you upgraded to the new 2020 version so you can take advantage of all the updates that have come out with it. Making sure the program works properly so you don't have to waste time printing things over is something we focus on and I can help go over some steps to fix this.

The first thing we need to make sure is that the print later is not checked at the top of the cheque screen. This can cause your company file to be cluttered with invoices, cheques and payment stubs. You can go to: File>Print Forms>Cheques to see if there are a build up in there. If there is it'd be best to print everything out to remove them. If this doesn't fix the issue then you may need to check for company file damage. You can follow the steps in this article to make sure your company file is repaired.

If you continue to have issues I suggest contacting our support team as they have tools to better assist troubleshooting this issue. This link will provide their hours of operation.

Have a great day!
