How fix the typo in reconciliation date for the past reconciliation

Hi pravin,

Reconciling in QuickBooks Online is a fast and accurate way to make sure your accounts have the correct balance and no bills or invoices are missing. I can help go over how to correct your reconciliation dates.

When you reconcile your account in QuickBooks Online you are verifying all the information within that time frame is correct. If there is any mistake with the dates it could lead to mistakes for future reconciled time frames. There are two ways you can go about fixing a date error after you reconcile. The first option is to manually remove all transactions going back to the date the mistake was made. To remove them you will need to follow these steps for each transaction.

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Chart of Accounts.
  3. Look for the account and click View Register.
  4. Select the transaction.
  5. Change the (reconciled) transaction to blank.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Choose Yes.

Once that is done you can just reconcile again with the correct date ranges. The second option would be to get in touch with an accountant as an accountants version has an undo option. This link will explain how to undo the reconciliation.

It is recommended to reach out to an accountant as manually removing the transaction from reconciled can cause issues if any mistakes are made.

Have a great weekend!
