Is there a way to look for an item keyword in a batch of sales receipts? I'm trying to find a specific item which was sold...
Thanks for choosing QuickBooks Online to manage the bookkeeping side of your business! I'm excited to have you with us and it sounds like you're taking advantage of the inventory feature, which is a great tool for managing the basics of inventory. Being able to track down related to specific inventory items is useful, and I'm happy to show you ways to do so in QuickBooks Online.
While you can't use the search bar to find items and their related transactions, there is a way to see items and their sales in the program: reports. We may often think of reports as being for things like seeing your profits and losses, but they also help to organize information in a comprehensible way and can make it easier to find information.
For your situation, I recommend a report such as the Sales by Product/Service Details or Sales by Product/Service Summary report to see transactions for the item you're looking for. Reports show you the same general information, but one is more detailed than the other. The Detail report is available in QuickBooks Online Essentials and Plus, while the Summary report is available in all three QuickBooks Online plans. Learn which reports are available in which plan here: What are the differences in report features among QuickBooks Online subscriptions?
Use report customization options to narrow down the information displayed in these reports and others to find exactly the details you need. Our Customize reports in QuickBooks Online article explains these options and how to use them. Feel free to try them out and explore what information various reports will give you.
I hope that helps! Give me a shout if you have further questions. I'm here to help however I can.
