It' vital you're able to record tips in QuickBooks and I'll be happy to show you how.
QuickBooks makes it easy to do this using the steps below:
- Click the Gear icon in QuickBooks and select Chart of Accounts.
- Click New at the top right.
- Choose Other Current Liabilities in the drop-down list.
- Select Other Current Liabilities under Detail Type and enter “Gratuity/Tips” in the Name field.
- Click Save to save the information.
To record the tips received by employees in QuickBooks, take the following steps:
- Click the plus sign at the top and click Check/Cheque.
- Select the back account to pay the tips from.
- Select the employee to pay the tips to.
- Enter amount and select Gratuity/Tips in Account field.
- Click Save.
