Hi Nezzer,
Thanks for reaching out to us here! I can understand the concern with your accountant receiving notifications about your payroll. I'd be happy to let you know the best course of action to prevent this from happening!
When you connect an accountant with your QuickBooks Online account, and they are using payroll, our back-end system configures to notify them when payroll is run. This is because they may also be helping you with your books. However, you'll need to contact us outside of Community, so we can work with you directly and gather the necessary information, to remove the accountant from receiving the notifications as soon as possible! Here's how to reach us.
Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?) Help in the upper right in QuickBooks Online > enter "Contact support" > hit Contact Us > provide a brief summary of your situation > hit Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Support hours are from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach back out. We are always glad to help!
Trish_T, your response makes me angry. You did not read my question or did not understand. Please read more carefully.
I am the accountant that QBO users CONNECT TO. I have about 40 QBO clients, several of which also subscribe to QBO payroll and direct deposit services. I did not post a question about MY payroll. My question relates to the payroll activities of MY CLIENTS.
I am getting emails from Intuit, notifying me that amounts have been withdrawn from MY bank account to pay employees of another company. See attached. That company is my client, and I have access to their QBO subscription as their accountant. That email is false - no such withdrawal comes out of MY bank account, and I should not be notified about this.
As mentioned in my previous post, this could be considered a breach of privacy under Canada's Privacy of Information and Protection of Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If an affected Intuit customer (i.e. my client) was to report it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (see website below), Intuit Canada could be in big trouble. I strongly recommend you report this to your superiors or someone who can actually address the problem.
Hi Nezzer,
I appreciate you getting back to me here. Your situation requires immediate attention and it's vital that you no longer receive email notifications about payroll activity associated with your client's accounts. I encourage you to contact our Customer Care team for direct assistance and resolution without delay!
If any other concerns should arise, please feel free to touch base with us here. We'd be glad to assist!
