Negative Vacation Accrual

I have an employee who is leaving the company. He has over taken his vacation and now has a negative balance in his vacation accrual, QB will not allow me to make an negative earnings entry and when i put in a negative deduction it does not clear the amount out of the accrual.

How can i clear out the negative vacation accrual?
