How would you go about checking for exact dates on when expenses were entered? Looking to see if we are entering expenses too late into the next month.

Hi Andrew Selbie,

Thanks for contacting us here. QuickBooks is a versatile program that helps you bring your finances into perspective. I'll be happy to share more info so you're on the right track with accomplishing your QuickBooks goals.

Before we get started, I recommend searching for expenses using the Audit log. This tool provides you with a list of changes/transactions that were made on your account.  Here's how to use the Audit log:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Audit Log.
  2. Select Filter.
  3. Use the fields on the Filter panel to choose the appropriate UserDate, or Events filter to narrow the results.
  4. If you've recently created these transactions, locate them on the Audit log screen, click on the blue link to open the transaction in question and retrieve the required info.
  5. Select Apply.

In case you still need further assistance, feel free to contact our support team using the contact details below:

  • Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?) in the upper right in QuickBooks Online > enter "Contact support" > choose Contact Us > provide a brief summary > select Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
  • Social MediaFacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
  • Support hours are from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.

I encourage you to try this out and let me know how you make out. I'll be one message away in case you need additional support.
