Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out for support here in the Community. I can appreciate that you're looking to get a fresh start in a brand new QuickBooks Online account. I'd be happy to shed some light on your options.
It's important to note that there's no way to move all the data in your existing QuickBooks Online account to a new QuickBooks Online account. At least not directly through the program itself. There's a third-party provider called Chronobooks, which some users have used to create a copy of their existing QuickBooks company file, and then restore this data into a new account. As this is a third-party program, the process to do this would have to be discussed with them and their support team. Here's a link to their website so you can see if this would be the right choice for you: https://www.chronobooks.com/.
Alternatively, there's a few things you can import and export from within your QuickBooks Online account directly. To export data, click the Gear icon > Export Data. You're able to export the General Ledger, Profit and Loss report, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, and Journal report. You can also export your Customer, Employee, and Supplier list.
To import data into a new QuickBooks account, click the Gear icon > Import Data. You can import Bank Data, Customers, Suppliers, Chart of Accounts, Products and Services, Invoices, and Bills. Importing and exporting your data won't help in moving everything from one account to the other, but it can move the main components of your account into a new company file.
I hope this helps to steer you in the right direction. Let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers.
I will need someone to walk me through this process so I will call during your open hours unless someone is available now to do this.
Do you want to copy data between QBO accounts? As mentioned by AddieC , you may utilize the trial period of backup tool.

You may open the new QBO accounts if you don't have another one yet

It appears Chronobooks has been purchased by Intuit. Is there a way to do this now?
Yes. The feature is only available in QBO Advanced. You may open a new blank QBO account.

then you may have 2 options:
1. Utilize a migration tool

2. Purchase a 3rd party migration service.
Hi Jwhitney,
I love that you've kept up with changes like Intuit purchasing Chronobooks. I can shed more light on this purchase and what it means for being able to transfer data when it comes to QuickBooks Online.
The option to use the Chronobooks functionality of transferring data from one account to another is now available with QuickBooks Online Advanced subscriptions. That subscription level is a US package, meaning the feature isn't currently available for Canadian users. If you'd like to see that option this side of the border as well, I invite you to let our product development team know by leaving feedback. The steps to do so are outlined in the How do I submit feedback? article, and comments are forwarded to the developers for consideration.
In the meantime, there may be third-party apps you can user to achieve the same thing with transferring data from one account to another. Check out the Apps tab in the left menu and use keywords to bring up the available options.
Otherwise, you can consider exporting and importing data from one QuickBooks Online account to another. Here are our articles that go over those options.
I hope that helps outline the options. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask. :)
Hey Laura!
Could you please provide me more information about how to use this new feature? I have the US based subscription but can't seem to find any information on how to use the "Chronobook" feature. I am trying to migrate the information from our current company into a new Company. They both have a QBO advanced subscription.
Thank you!
You came to the right place to know more about the new feature, @echeverri,
Chronobooks is the latest offering launched by Intuit to help businesses be more productive in terms of data conversion through backups. To get started, you will need to turn on the feature using the steps below:
Once there are backups saved, you can use this to restore to the new company. You can also save a manual copy of the back up to immediate conversions.
Here are some articles about Chronobooks and how to use it. Follow the steps below:
Let me know if you need further assistance with this. I'll be right here if you need additional help saving and restorin an online backup. Have a nice day!
Hi,
I followed these instructions to create a copy of a current active company, however, it only transferred opening balances in the ledgers. How do I make an exact replica of a company that also includes all the transactions?
Thanks
Hi Jo A,
I see how having the option to make a complete back-up of your QuickBooks Online account would come in handy. QuickBooks has many different products with various features. I want to ensure you are getting the right information for your version.
As the region changes, so do the product and features. As my colleague said earlier in this thread, the Canadian versions of QuickBooks Online don't have the ability to create a backup copy. If you're using a copy from the United States, I can move your post over to the US QuickBooks Community, where you can get support for your product.
Allow me to help you find the right path. Warmest regards.
Purge your secondary account. If you are using QBO Easy Start, you should open a new blank one.
