Where can I find a list of outstanding cheques?

Hello Lei,

Thanks for joining us again here in the QuickBooks Online community. I have a feeling what you're looking for is a list of outstanding cheques in the program, rather than a list of "understanding" cheques. Typos happen! I'll let you know the options.

While QuickBooks Online has an Unpaid bills report that shows you outstanding bills in the program, there isn't a way to see outstanding cheques. I suspect you're hoping to see whether a cheque was cashed or not, but this isn't something that's available in QuickBooks Online at this time. Rather, I recommend checking your bank statement to verify whether or not a cheque has been cashed.

To see a list of cheques in general, you can pull up something like the Transaction List by Supplier report to see all transactions related to a supplier. If you have a QuickBooks Online Essentials or Plus account, you can also filter the report to only see cheques. Learn more about customizing reports here: Customize your reports in QuickBooks Online

Reconciling your accounts is another great way to see which transactions have cleared and which haven't. There's more information about reconciling in this article: Reconcile accounts

Stop by again if you need anything else!

Thank you so much for help and reply !

Yes, I am hoping to see whether a cheque was cashed or not, but this isn't something that's available in QuickBooks Online at this time.

-----if i have to find all checks I I issued recently or withing certain month for each supply, then check my bank statement if all checks were cashed or not, it is a big job and wasting much time.  I want to check these checks to control my cash flow, That is why i am asking for simpler ways in QBO.

Gotcha. QuickBooks will only know if a cheque has been cashed or not if it has been reconciled. Since cheques and other payments made from you to a vendor or someone else are record-only transaction in the program, there's no way for QuickBooks Online to know what's happening unless you tell it. Cheques and other bill payments aren't connected directly to your bank the way that a customer payment could be through QuickBooks Payments.

Another option you can consider if connecting your bank feed to your account and matching your transactions from the feed to what's in QuickBooks. This does what I like to call a soft reconciliation. Since a reconciliation is the process of you comparing what's in your books to what's on your bank statements anyway, when you match a transaction to what's in QuickBooks Online or add it, the program see it as kind of the same thing. Learn more about bank feeds here: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online

Otherwise, I recommend submitting feedback about what you're looking for to our product development team. You can do this by clicking the option in the Gear icon of your account.

I hope that helps!
