Hello userjoshtimowen,

 

I'm glad to see that you're keeping an eye on your reporting while using QuickBooks Self-Employed so that you can resolve these kinds of situations in a timely fashion before tax time. I want to make sure that things are lining up as they should be in the program and get you back on track with your motor vehicle expenses.

 

When you're reviewing the reports in QuickBooks Self-Employed and not seeing the numbers you're expecting, one of the first things to do is check dates. The date range of the report and the date on the transaction are both important for lining up your data. The report date range can be changed before you run the report in the Reports tab by selecting from the drop-down menu. To review dates for your expense transactions, head on over to the Transactions tab and review the entries there. Feel free to use the filters to narrow down your search.

 

If you find that a transaction has been incorrectly dated, simply double click it to have the option to change the date. Once you save, you should be good to go.

 

However, if everything is dated correctly and you're still not seeing the figures you're expecting, I recommend browser troubleshooting. Taking steps to clear the cache or even use a private browser window can help with making sure QuickBooks Self-Employed is running smoothly.
