Shocked at Quickbooks desktop pro1 user 48% pricing increase because they "understand my money. Small Canadian Business here you clearly do not understand my business. Additional fee increases my annual subscription from $564 to $840. Have to continue with this program. Our other business is online and the system is simply NOT user friendly and navigation within the program makes no sense. our accountant has moved all his online office systems back to desktop it's so bad. Quickbooks - shame on you.
Couldn't agree more with you!
I'm appalled at Intuit/QuickBooks... Their pricing keeps on jumping with absolutely NO ADDITIONAL VALUE offered.. I've been with QB for 15 years now and with multiple companies! I've introduced QB to some of my organizations.. I work mainly with NON PROFITS and INTUIT/QB could care less! Basically it's the same program design they had 15 years ago with some minor tweaks here and there in the design portion. The functionality is basically the same all these years.. Only the pricing has changed! How do you justify a nearly 50% increase in the basic license and then an additional 25% increase in per employee fee? ..We have nearly 70 employees , most of them are part time, as we're a non-profit .. It used to be Intuit/QB only charged for their Payroll module, which is understandable (even that was a high fee). But then this per employee charge! For what ?? What exactly is Intuit/QB doing for this per employee charge?? It's a pure cash grab!! I'm the one who still has to enter everything.. We still pay for the cheques.. We pay our accountants still.. We still pay our bank their fees.. What 'value' is Intuit/QB offering for their per employee fee? The only reason they are doing this is because they can! In this particular case, they are acting like 'bullies' and preying on their 'victim' customers because they are able to .. And by the way, all the payroll information that update QB with is downloaded from CRA. Yes they probably have to write a few new lines of code each year to conform to anything new.. I'll give hem the credit where it's due... they offer a great desktop product and that's why I like using it but that doesn't mean they have card blanche permission to take advantage of their customers like this!
Yes, I also refuse to switch to QB Online.. I've only heard horror stories from friends of mine that use QB Online. QB is trying to push it but are clueless what the average user is saying about their products.. They are completely out of touch!
A Very Frustrated Intuit/QB Customer

LOL, almost a comical 'cut & paste reply from the handbook' .. Once again, showing that the response is out of touch with the reality and once again showing Intuit/QB is out of touch with their customers. Notice the 'fluff' in the response, unable to show what exactly they are offering for all these price increases. Also, fails to address how they are not taking advantage of their customers, because they can. It also fails to address how they justify charging non-profits such exorbitant pricing. Same old, same old ...

If you don't need to run any add-ons, you should consider switching to an old QB Desktop with a non subscription license.
Great...I see I will have to explain to my boss about what the huge charge on his ccard is for. There is basically no improvement on any of their updates - at times, certain "improvements" are actually not an improvement at all. Wish these programmers would have accountants/bookkeepers test the "improved" program first.
As for QB Online - I started at this company in 2021 and in 3 months I had them out of the Online into the desk top. I don't know what industry that version is good for but for construction it's the worst. But here's the kicker - I couldn't get a back up of my data to restore into the Desktop version. Sure I was able to import the lists but the actual data - no. Support didn't have any idea on how to get the data. At which point they came back and said that you cannot get a backup of data in the Online version. So I had to print out every transaction report and journal entries made and have my accounting staff reenter all that data into the Desktop version.
I, as well, have been using QB since they first started out. Might be time to look for a different program.

If you're so committed to helping small businesses, why are you not listening to us when we say we want to stay with the Desktop version and not be forced into migrating to the Online version? Why are our financial reporting records being held hostage behind such a huge pay wall?
