Automations (various kinds)

Hello everyone,

returning QB user here.

I would like to know if there is a way to implement some automations in QB. For example:

  • mass update item prices from excel spreadsheet or other file type (assuming that all the information are given and correct)
  • import a list of items into a PO from excel spreadsheet or other file type: in this case I have a different software that generates a list of items that I need to purchase from different vendors. Is there any way to avoid the manual entry?

Any indication, suggestion, note would be really much appreciated!!!

Thank you,

He

Automations (various kinds)

Hi Helios76.

Being able to request new features and provide your feedback and suggestions on the product is what has made QuickBooks Desktop what it is today. I'd be happy to help walk you through how to make these requests for QuickBooks Desktop.

One of the things we made sure to include in QuickBooks Desktop is a way to send your requests to our development team directly through the program. In order to make a product suggestion or provide feedback you just need to go to Help>Send Feedback Online>Product Suggestion. Once you submit your ideas or requests it's sent directly to our development team so they can look into possibly adding it in future updates.

Another option would be to look into third party apps that can add the features your looking for. You can check out our third party apps page here. Just make sure that the apps are able to work with your version of QuickBooks Desktop.

If you have any questions let us know and we'd be happy to help.

Automations (various kinds)

Hello,

First of all thank you for your reply! Probably my question has been misinterpreted and I apologize for that.

What I would like to understand is, as of now, there is a way to do what I am asking:

  • update multiple prices (through a file excel import or even through an ODBC query)
  • Update multiple items to minimize the data input (and thus the possible errors) in a new PO

Can you help me with that?

Thank you!!!

Hi Helios76,

Thanks for reaching back out.  QuickBooks is a dynamic program to manage your accounting with confidence.  I can see how being able to update multiple items and prices by importing a spreadsheet would be a great time saver.  However, as mentioned above, this is currently not available.  The best course of action would be to reach out to our Development Team with a suggestion for future updates.  Recommendations are greatly appreciated to ensure the best customer experience with QuickBooks Desktop.

Please don't hesitate to reach back out with any other questions.  We'd be happy to assist!

Utilize one of these importer tools.

Another option, consider having an inventory management app to integrate with your QBD.
