Our non-profit has a new treasurer, but she's a Mac user, and we have a user license for QuickBooks Premier Editions 2018, (Includes Nonprofit Edition). Can we transfer our license to QuickBooks Mac, so that we can continue to use QuickBooks? If not, is there a workaround solution you recommend, so that we can make use of our existing user license? Thank you!
Hi hwffm,
Changing computers can be a hassle but QuickBooks Desktop makes it a little easier by allowing you to install on more than one at a time. I can help go over this with you.
At this time QuickBooks Desktop Canada doesn't have Mac functionality as it requires windows components to run properly. There is a work around for this though. You can install a windows partition on the Mac computer and install your QuickBooks Desktop that way. You can find out more about this here. I do suggest having an IT professional assist with this to make sure there are no issues.
Another option would be to look into QuickBooks Online as it is compatible with any operating system and can be used anywhere you have internet connection. You can look at the features and pricing here.
Hope this helps!
QuickBooks Desktop Mac offers only for US version. If you are using QB Desktop Premier CA version, you have to purchase a 3rd party conversion service. You may have other options:
1. Run your current QB Desktop version on Parallels
2. Deploy a private cloud at your premise and your Mac user will access the file on browser.
