Looking for some advice. Our file size is growing at a ridiculous rate and is making the program unstable. I have asked for help from Quickbooks and they of course said it was the 3rd party software that we use, then the 3rd party referred me back to Quickbooks, and so on. Honestly don't care who it is I just need to find out why. I am wondering what other resources are out there to help resolve this issue. I am willing to create a new company file but want to find out why this is happening so I don't have to do this every year. We are in the 100K plus transactions in a year.
Hi RuthC1,
It's great to hear that your business is booming and the transactions continue at great levels! QuickBooks Desktop saves your financial information and grows with you. When using a third party app it's best to reach out to them directly for the best course of action, taking into consideration the rate you're business has grown since using their product. I'd be happy to offer other options for you!
Essentially, you can review other apps for QuickBooks Desktop, or you may prefer to create a new company file from your existing one. I recommend consulting with your accountant before making a decision to ensure you're on the right track for your business needs. If you don't have an accountant we can help you locate a ProAdvisor in your local area.
In addition, here's a handy article on how to resolve QuickBooks Desktop performance issues.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach back out. We'd be glad to assist!
Are you using QBD Enterprise? How big is your file size? You may purchase a 3rd party condensing service to get a new file with smaller size. Contact us in private for details.
