Hello!!
Looking for other users who use Enterprise for a flooring store. We recently upgraded from PRO and we're trying to figure out how the additional features can be used for our business. I have lots of questions. Is there anyone out there in the flooring community that would be available for an hour of consutling? Paid of course!
THank you :)
Why did you upgrade from Pro to Enterprise?
We switched because Quickbooks said we could't have a 5 user licence with PRO anymore. The maximum was changed to 3 users. We needed more users so we had to upgrade.
Hi LinsFisher,
I love that you're looking to brainstorm with other users here in the QuickBooks Community to get the most out of using QuickBooks Enterprise for your business type! That's a great way to learn tips and tricks to make your bookkeeping even easier.
As I'm sure you can see, QuickBooks Enterprise is a lot like QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Premier, just with a few extra features that can take your business to the next level. I know having insight from others in the same field that use the software is a great asset, but I just wanted to take a moment to share with you some details from the QuickBooks side of the equation.
Two of the great new features you can consider are Advanced Pricing and Advanced Inventory. I've got a couple of articles here that walk you through both of those so you can consider how they might work with your business.
You may receive some responses here from other users in the Community, but you're also welcome to connect with our support team if you'd like to go over anything in more detail. For Enterprise, support fees are included in your subscription, so you don't have to worry about paying extra when you reach out. Check out the Intuit QuickBooks Desktop software support policies article to see the ways you can reach us.
Wishing you the best with using Enterprise!
Hi..
Can you let me know how Quickbooks is working within your company. We are a flooring and Furniture store and just starting to obtain the online version of quickbooks and still looking at the set up of products/inventory in quickbooks as to what will work best any help appreciated.

Hi there MartinC1,
It's vital that your inventory is correctly entered in your books so that your account balances can be accurate. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you keep track of your sales and expense transactions to see the profit of your company. I can provide some information about inventory tracking.
Inventory tracking is a feature available to the QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced plans. In order to set up inventory, you can do so by following the steps in this article. There is also some great information about how to manage your inventory, as well as reporting based on inventory.
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out here.
Thanks for the info.
My main concern is the set up of our products. We sell furniture that we buy and bring in and sell in the store all are one off product and no re order needed. We also sell Flooring which is sold from samples it in the store and we order customer orders so again no real need to re stock when low as not many times we will order the same colour or amount. We do re stock accessories like under pad and trims etc so i guess these go into Inventory.
The main problem i see is that i need to make a list of all the samples of flooring i have so they can be found when making a quote or invoice but unsure if i need to make a line for every colour in every range or add the colour once selected for the quote? The problem if i do not i might get 3 customers order For Hydro 5 Raw which will go in the system as 1000 sq ft but will not split down the colours or by customer.I understand this is not a flooring program but not sure what set up is best ie non inventory or Inventory and then every item gets listed with colours separate.
Any help apprecited.

Inventory management features in QBO offer limited functionality. Consider having a third-party app with matrix inventory and Units of Measurement features to integrate with QBO.
